As with many modern love stories, Sarah and Mike met on the dating app Hinge. They connected right away with their mutual love of dogs, sports, country music, wine and the beach. Meeting on the internet presents its own challenges, however Mike and Sarah immediately hit it off with their text exchanges, they could tell something was special.

Meeting in person was delayed when Sarah became ill and had to be hospitalized for 2 weeks. They kept in touch through texting, and Mike sent some get well dog flowers with a note reading "First time hospital meetings tend to be awkward, so I sent a proxy instead. Get better soon catfish! The beach and a wine bottle will be waiting for you when you're out! - Prison Mike"

After a month of chatting through text, they were finally able to meet in person. They had their first date at Torrance Beach with some wine at sunset. Their texting energy transferred effortlessly into in person chemistry and a successful first date. Ending with Mike wearing a LA Kings hoodie due to a lost bet.

They decided to become "official" boyfriend/ girlfriend as their relationship continued to grow. They enjoyed each others company out and about as well as at home in front of the TV as Sarah continued to recover from illness.

After asking permission from their dogs, Riley and Hunter, Sarah and Mike decided to blend their furry family and live together in Redondo Beach.

A year after meeting in person, Mike and Sarah returned to Torrance Beach at sunset to celebrate a year together. Their first year was filled with sporting events, concerts and quality time with friends and family. They were also lucky enough to travel to Indiana, Hawaii, Northern California, Washington and Wyoming together.

Mike proposed to Sarah at Torrance Beach during the sunset, the same place where they had met in person for the first time 19 months prior. And she said YES!
