Michael and Brianna met in the summer of 2021 while working overnight shifts at the hospital they were both employed at. It all began when Michael, a nursing assistant from the emergency department, brought a patient to Brianna's unit where she worked as a registered nurse. One of the first things Brianna remembers about Michael is him convincing her to get more tattoos even if it meant her parents would kill her, because she had complimented his colorful sleeve of ink.

Their first date was in the courtyard of that same hospital, where the two spent their break together one night at three o'clock in the morning. Their second date happened approximately four hours later when they extended their conversations over breakfast. This would be the first of many post-shift breakfast dates they would share over the years.

The following year, the pair found out they were going to welcome their son, Henry, in January of 2023. They discovered the best parts of one another after that, and their favorite thing to do is be together with their little boy. Michael and Brianna are thrilled to spend their special day with Henry.

Michael still works as a nursing assistant full-time, and is enrolled in the Masters of Social Work program at Stony Brook University, which he will complete in Spring of 2026. Brianna is now a registered nurse at an outpatient urgent care clinic. The two enjoy their days off together and are counting down the days until September 14th 2025!
