The fifth largest waterfall in the United States, Multnomah Falls cascade more than 600 feet into the Columbia River Gorge below. Fed by rainfall, snowmelt and even underground springs, the waterfall is a geological marvel. The iconic Benson Bridge, with the waterfall in the backdrop, makes for a picture-perfect frame. Many hiking enthusiasts throng the bridge for photographs that capture the serenity and enormity of the waterfalls. Located at the foot of the falls, hikers can rest and refuel at the Multnomah Falls Lodge restaurant or pick up a souvenir from the gift shop.
