This love story started about 8 years ago when they were introduced by their mutual friend at Locust Fork Baptist church. Here their friendly interactions would slowly grow into a tiny teenage crush. Jaida and Michael found themselves surrounded by a group of friends that became like family and would support their pursuit of each other in all their years to come. Michael made it official one faithful day in December 2016 and little did they know the next several years would hold so many precious memories. Between church events, friend group shenanigans, baseball games, beach trips, and many more crazy adventures they paved their way. Building the foundation for the love they shared. Hometown hangout sessions would soon lead to long distance “I love you”s when Michael moved away for college. It put their commitment to each other on the next level as they solidified their relationship just a little further with each mile that Jaida put on her Camry. The couple would spend the next years transitioning through graduations, more church events, serving the Lord together, college classes, new jobs, more trips, a million pictures, several moves, lots of holidays, new friends, and navigating how to set up their life together. Now approaching year 7 and facing a new business opportunity along with Jaida’s career path being sorted and started, Michael knew the next step was serious. After all the curves life had already thrown so far he knew without a doubt that Jaida was the one he wanted to spend the rest of forever with. They had been at each other’s sides through the stages in life you do most of your changing and learning. They had stood the test of time together. They figured out who they were through good times and tough times. They had created history together in ways that were invaluable. He knew what he had to do.
Michael went out and bought a ring, banded the girls together, and got started planning the most lovely surprise. Jaida was led by her best friends out on a nail salon date, to brunch, and then to buy celebratory cigars (though she didn’t know for what). The girls even took her through a car wash to throw her off before finally reaching Jules J. Berta where Jaida was under the impression they would be having dinner. In true female fashion a “girls day” photo shoot at the winery while they waited for their food to come out ensued. As she turned around the check the photos being taken there stood Michael. He got down on one knee and asked her to be Mrs. Reid. Now we get to witness this answered prayer of many be lived out this August when these two will be joined as husband and wife.
