Michael and Clare both decided to take steps to grow in their faith by going to Kaleo, an 8 week discipleship program in Panama City Beach, Florida their freshman year. This marked the beginning of their friendship.

After the summer, Michael and Clare had many run ins with each other, including date parties, Sigma Chi events, tailgates, ski trips, and running around College Station with all of their friends.

On February 11th Michael drove to Clare's house, knocked on her door and asked her on a date. A few days later they went on their first date--axe throwing in the woods.

On their 3rd date, Michael took Clare to the Houston rodeo to see Zac Brown Band.

Michael asked Clare to be his girlfriend, and that following weekend they had their first outing as an official couple at a group trip to Galveston!

Michael continued to plan fun dates, some more interesting than others.

They even went on a Golden Corral date (per Clare's request) to try the meatloaf together.

Michael and Clare spent the summer apart--he went on a 7 week mission trip to Southeast Asia, while Clare spent her summer in Orlando, Florida back at Kaleo. Although thousands of miles apart, Michael kept pursuing Clare, through sending her flowers and lots of FaceTime dates.
