Some love stories are written in the stars — but Michael and Tasmin’s began in Mthatha, over steak evenings and weekends at Mngazana with friends.

Though they officially connected in 2018, their paths had crossed many times before: baby photos in the sandpit and a Christmas photo with little Michael sitting on Tasmin’s late father Leon’s lap — fate was at work long before they knew it.

In 2018, Michael became a steady presence in Tasmin’s life, and their bond grew stronger through the years, especially during their long-distance relationship. While Tasmin lived in Cape Town, Michael made regular trips to visit, and they always made the most of every moment. From exploring the best fine dining spots to spontaneous adventures, their time together in Cape Town was filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Their first date? Nando’s in Mthatha — simple, perfect, and the start of something real. As their love grew, so did the memories — Mngazana adventures, Cape Town & Gonubie getaways, and shared moments of laughter and love.

They later faced family illness challenges together, working and living side by side, proving that their love could weather any storm. Finally, fate aligned, and they were able to build a life together in the same city.

Then, in December 2022, on the sands of Mngazana, Michael asked Tasmin to be his forever — in the place where so many of their cherished memories were made.
