This love story begins in a Richmond, Texas courthouse on Tuesday, November 28th, 2023, while Mike was in jury duty. Their conversation quickly evolved to texting every day and phone calls getting to know each other better. A few months later, they quickly knew that they had found “the one.” During one of their conversations, Mike asked her if he could go to her church in Bellville. He just felt right at home when he walked through the doors. He knew at that point the Holy Spirit was leading him.

On a hot July 4th evening in San Antonio, Mike had planned a special dinner at the Charthouse restaurant at 5 pm, located in The Tower of the Americas, where the restaurant slowly rotates giving you a breathtaking view of the riverwalk and downtown below. He had gotten the idea a few weeks earlier while visiting Ginger. They had spent the day in downtown San Antonio on the riverwalk enjoying a boat ride and concert that evening. Heather, Ginger’s sister, had secretly arranged for their father Mike, and his wife Martha, to surprise them and witness this special occasion. Mike asked Ginger to marry him and spend the rest of their lives together that evening. Ginger was so overcome with emotion of their surprise and the moment, she later had to ask Mike if she had even said the word “yes.”

As we look forward to building our lives together, we know with prayer and focusing on God’s plan for our lives that the future will be bright. We are currently building our dream home on a beautiful 1-acre property in Eagle Lake, a place where we can welcome our family and friends. With six adult children, seven wonderful grandchildren, and one more grandchild on the way our hearts are already full of love and excitement. We cannot wait to retire and grow old together, enjoying every phase of life by each other’s side. Whether it is watching our grandchildren grow, spending time with family and friends, cooking, traveling, or simply spending quiet mornings and evenings on our back porch, we are excited for what God has planned for our lives. Our future is grounded in love, faith, and family, and we feel incredibly blessed to have each of you by our side for this journey.
