How did an American girl from Colorado and British boy from Essex meet you might ask? Well buckle up for our love story!

It all started in 2014............Mike had ventured out on a cross country trip with a couple of his best pals while Shannon had quit her job to travel the world. After spending a couple months in Europe Shannon made her way to Asia. Cambodia was the next stop on the list. A search for accommodations in Sihanoukville proved unsuccessful and led to a small beach town called Otres Beach. Little did Shannon know who would be walking into the bar next and sit down beside her. Enter Mike who was making his way to Cambodia after 3 weeks in India. In a small bar on the beach 2 Brits sat down next to us when every other seat in the place was open. After about 5 mins of chatting about nothing we all hit it off and became friends. A stop in Otres Beach that was supposed to last a couple days turned into a week of new friends, cheap beers and one of the most beautiful beaches we had ever seen.

One thing had become very clear those days on the beach, Mike and Shannon had a strong connection. Wherever Shannon was Mike was to be found.

The next 5 years would be random messages to check in, chat about our latest travel adventures and what's new in each others lives. Until August 2019 when Mike was supposed to come to America with some friends to check off a couple states. Lucky for Shannon the boys bailed and Mike needed a trip away. Shannon with her brilliant ideas told Mike he was always welcome to visit Denver. Mike obliged and booked a trip for February 2020.

Sure enough when Mike landed in Denver and got in Shannon's car it was like no time had passed and we were back in Cambodia.

Life over the next 2 years would be Covid, borders to America closed, many flights to England, visa trouble, Covid wedding, applying for a green card and the best part of all starting our lives together.

If we can make it through that we can make it through anything!
