Back in 2020, I was having a tough time. I just couldn’t find anyone who matched the kind of man I envisioned being with in a relationship. Since I was a child, I had always dreamed of having my own family and children. Settling down and starting a family has been my ultimate goal.

I was on the verge of giving up and taking a break from dating when Mike reached out to me on Instagram. Let’s just say he was quite persistent after I didn’t respond to his messages (yes, there were multiple!).

Eventually, I decided to give him a chance and invited him to hang out, and we immediately clicked! We discovered our shared passion for the gym and board games.

In fact, we played Monopoly about 50 times during those first few weeks together 😂, and we even had a whiteboard to keep track of who won each game (yes, I was in the lead 😉).

I fell for Mike for so many reasons, but his personality stood out the most. Anyone who knows him can attest that he is one of the kindest and most genuine people around. He’s incredibly loving and has a huge heart, which is exactly the quality I wanted in the man I would marry one day.

A couple of weeks after meeting Mike, I told two of my best friends that he was the man I was going to marry when they asked about him. They looked at me like I was out of my mind (they always knew about my lifelong dream, haha).

From the moment we met, we were inseparable, and that hasn’t changed. I’m so thankful that God blessed me with such a loving partner and an amazing father to our two little ones.

Here’s to a lifelong partner to play games with, lift weights with, and love for the rest of our lives!

I cant begin to emphasize how the phrase, its a small world ties in to how I met Salicia. In the beginning, my persistence helped with getting her attention so that I could even have a chance to meet her.

Upon meeting her for the first time, we both found out that I knew her roommate at the time, Lizzy. So, that helped ease the nerves and my shyness around Salicia.

After getting to know Salicia more, we both found out that we met two years prior at Lizzys birthday party, and that was when I realized how I knew Salicia, at that time, I was completely crushing on her but didnt make a move because I assumed someone as pretty as her definitely couldnt be single. Well lucky for me, two years later, I should have taken that chance because she was into me then too! Oh well, good things come to those that wait.

After our first date at High Caliber, I just knew this was the girl I want to marry, and I even made a joke and got one of those prize rings you can win from an arcade and put it on her finger.

A few weeks later, I met her family on super bowl Sunday, and apparently they were planning on traumatizing me but luckily her uncle saved my neck because he used to be my supervisor (its a small world). We had a great time with her family, and I definitely knew I got everyones approval, I hoped. After that night I asked Salicia to be my girlfriend and she already could tell it was coming. I still cant get over how excited we were and now I get to marry that girl for real.
