Our first picture together. Fourth of July weekend in Michigan! Around this same time we also fell in love with the song, "Orange Colored Sky" by Nat King Cole.

We met through band friends, the best way to meet somebody:) Michael played tuba and Julia played flute. This is at the Christmas Wind Symphony Concert.

Going on tour to Yosemite National Park was another perk of being in Wind Symphony together.

Our last choir concert performing together at Dordt! Michael and Julia were used to having band together, but then Michael decided to try out for concert choir for his senior year and made it!

Michael's graduation from Dordt University with his Bachelor's of Science. He now is getting his Ph.D. of Chemistry at University of Iowa.

That summer Concert Choir also got to go on tour to Czech Republic and Austria, to sing in beautiful churches and go sightseeing! We love Europe, and we can't wait to go again for our honeymoon :)

Michael is at University of Iowa, and Julia is at Dordt, so we try to make the most of any breaks that we have together!

Even though it was just for a weekend, Michael made the drive for Julia's senior flute recital!

The day Julia said "YES!" Michael proposed after they went out for dinner at their favorite place, Crave in Sioux Falls. Our friend Kyler Statema took the best sunset engagement pictures for us :)
