Do I need to RSVP?
Yes, please do! This will help us get an accurate head count for the vendors.
How many guests can I bring?
We would love to accommodate everyone who wants to come and celebrate our big day with us. Unfortunately we can only accommodate those people noted on the invitation.
Can I bring my child(ren) to the wedding?
Due to venue constraints and the large number of guests who have children, our wedding needs to be an adults-only celebration, except for children of the bridal party. We appreciate your understanding, and we can't wait to share our special day with you!
What is the parking situation?
At the ceremony, Lutheran Church of Hope has a large parking lot. The door to the chapel is on the south side.
There is plenty of parking at our reception venue, Country Lane Lodge. Just go all the way down the access road!
CAUTION: There is a gravel road leading to Country Lane Lodge.
What time should I arrive at the wedding ceremony?
Please arrive to be seated 10-15 minutes prior to the ceremony starting. It is not a long walk from the parking lot to the chapel.
Will there be any transportation provided?
There is a shuttle that will run a couple times between Country Lane Lodge and the Hampton Inn (where we have our room block) if you are in need of transportation from the reception venue. Please behave responsibly!
Do I have to stay at the hotel where you have the room block?
Not at all! The shuttle will run to the Hampton Inn, but there are several hotels, from many major chains, nearby in West Des Moines or the surrounding area.
What should I do if I can't make it, but I RSVP'ed yes?
As soon as you know your plans have changed and/or you are not able to attend, please let us know so that way we can make the necessary changes with the caterer.
What is the weather going to be like on the wedding day?
It's April in Iowa. It will probably be somewhere between 0 and 100 degrees, and either sunny, cloudy, rainy, snowy, or clear. No matter what, it will be a beautiful day!
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony and reception will both be indoors. Weather permitting, there will be space available outside at the reception.
Will there be a time gap between the ceremony and the reception?
Following the ceremony, guests will do a send-off for the bridal party and travel over to the reception, where chips, salsa, queso, and guacamole will be available.
What time will the reception end?
We are going to try to wrap up around 10pm. Everyone is welcome to continue the party elsewhere, but the bride and groom will not be joining an after-party.
Will there be alcohol served at the reception?
Yes, alcohol will be served. There will be featured drinks available, and other beverages available for purchase. Please party responsibly!
What's for dinner?
Mexican food! We're doing a taco bar, which should hopefully accommodate any allergies or food sensitivities you might have. When you RSVP, make sure to note your allergies. For dessert, there will be cake and donuts!
Will there be dancing?
Have you met the bride? We're not having the reception in the Footloose town, you know!
