Michaela and Shawn’s adventure began when they were both working as lifeguards at the Pueblo Athletic Club in 2011.&nbsp;Now we’d like to tell you it was “love at first sight”, but when Shawn became the “Boss” the following year it became clear that he didn’t even remember Michaela’s name. However, throughout that summer they became good friends and they started to fall for each other.&nbsp;&nbsp; Despite Michaela’s return to CSU in the fall their relationship continued to grow and after several years of long distance they finally moved in together in 2017. &nbsp;In 2019 they moved to Albuquerque, where they currently live. Their family grew when they adopted two Albuquerque Terriers Manny and Bailey whom they love more than anything.&nbsp; Shawn has always been the one to encourage Michaela to try new things and create new adventures. This is how they have gained almost all of their hobbies including hiking, rock climbing, and bike riding. On Christmas Eve 2019 in Colorado with the help of Manny, Shawn asked Michaela to start their biggest adventure yet by asking her to marry him and she said Yes! After 10 exciting years, they can not wait to celebrate their marriage with you on 10/1/2022.

Forever Besties and Michaela’s “person” for the last 26 years. After we were the Lady bugs you could find us at the Dairy Queen in high school and sharing a dorm room at CSU. 

Tiffany Hoover 

One of the OG ladybugs and best friend for 26 years. Always gives the best advice and just as obsessed with Harry Potter as Michaela.

Dani Adamson 

Michaela’s Seester for the last 12 years. When Emily’s around you will always have a good time as she is the funniest of the group and with her caring personality I am so thankful Bri shares her best friend with me.

Emily Gray

The sister-in-law and some (mostly Michaela) would even say saint.  We were lucky enough to gain this caring and bubbly soul in our lives  8 years ago.

Nicole Barbera

One of the Five best friends ever, ever, and ever and the Barber to my Barbera. I met Kristina on the first day of medical school and knew at that second she’d be my best friend forever.

Kristina Barber

One of the Five best friends ever, ever, and ever for 8 years. Sara is the most laid back and spontaneous person I know and is always the first one to either come up with or jump on board  with a crazy idea.

Sara Dryden 

One of the Five best friends ever, ever ,and ever! Fred’s calm and cool personality are what make him so special. He’s always there to challenge ideals and make the people around him strive to be the best versions of themselves.

Fred Gonzales 

One of the Five best friends ever, ever and ever. Katy has not only been one of Michaela’s but also Shawn’s best friends for the last eight years and was even their roommate for two years! She is always there to listen and provide support whenever needed. 

Katy Lehenbauer 

Sister of the groom! She comes in the smallest of packages but is the fiercest on the list. She’s a huge support system to both Shawn and Michaela. 

Ashley Plath 

Claire is crafty and always learning new skills. From knitting to beating up on the boys while wrestling she has a diverse skill set.

Brother of the Groom, and Shawn’s adventuring buddy.  Always looking for the next big adventure for the brothers. 

Alex Gregory 

Friends going back for 10 years their relationship also started at the PAC. Jake is always one you can count on to lend a helping hand without complaint. 

Jacob Weakly 

Brother-in -law to the groom. He’s a calm and welcoming soul. The first to jump into any game with the kids. 

Caleb Plath

Michaela’s oldest brother, and constantly cracking jokes. He's the comedian of the family and can you can always count on him to make you laugh. 

Brian Barbera

Michaela’s Younger brother, and full of personality.  Shawn’s known dalton for over half of Dalton’s life and can recall playing basketball with him at the PAC (Don’t let Shawn lie about who won).  We are so proud of the reliable and strong willed person he has become. 

Dalton Dillard 

Noble is wise beyond his years and has the most caring soul. Michaela can recall spending time with him when he was just a baby and we are both so lucky to be able to watch him grow up. 

Noble Martinet 

Full of fun and always making you laugh. Niko like Noble is so sweet but he is always looking for ways to find an adventure. 

Niko Martinet 

Miloh is a young rockstar and can be found playing the drums or trying to catch them all. Miloh loves animals and he is always looking for an adventure.
