Maxwell and Michaela embarked on another adventure to their beloved spot, the New River Gorge in West Virginia. Amidst the thrills of climbing with their crew of pals and pooches that fateful week. The duo found themselves at The Cirque, a familiar haunt, on Wednesday, October 10, 2024. As the day's climbs wound down and the sun dipped low, with almost no one in site. Max, Michaela, and their friend Carl decided to catch the sunset from a scenic vantage point atop the cliff. With anticipation building, Max seized the moment, dropping to one knee and producing a little green box. But in a twist worthy of an action flick, nerves got the best of Max, and with a bit too much gusto, he sent the ring out of the box and onto the ground. With every bounce the ring got closer until finally…. It went flying over the cliffs edge! A collective gasp and a couple of chuckles (because what are the odds) echoed through the gorge as the ring took an impromptu 100-foot plunge. Miraculously, luck was on their side that fateful day. Max, summoning his inner detective, embarked on a daring descent to retrieve the wayward ring. After a heart-stopping cliffside rescue mission, he returned, undeterred and determined. Second times the charm, they say, and this time, as Max popped the question once more, the answer was a resounding yes!

Our Engagement Story

Our Adventures

Maxwell and Michaela began their love story in 2017. Michaela was studying at Arcadia University and Maxwell was beginning his career in the Lehigh Valley. Luckily, their love of rock climbing and adventure brought them together at the Philadelphia Rock Gym. Due to both of them being addicted to this sport, ice cream and their love of dogs. They quickly began to spend more and more time together until they inevitably started dating. Once graduated Michaela moved to the Lehigh Valley to begin creating their life together. They now have: - 2 dogs Ricky Charles Snyder (6 years old) and Kida McCatherine Hawkins (3 years old)- Spent too many weekends to count at The New River Gorge in West Virginia-Spent 5 summers in Lander, Wyoming.- Traveled abroad to Fontainebleau, France and Mallorca Spain. They are excited to continue to write their love story and hope that all of you can continue to be amazing inspirations to them as they grow together.

Our Story

Adam and Max have shared a brotherly bond since Max's earliest days, but their closeness deepened significantly when they began climbing together in 2010 at Reading Rocks. Climbing has not only been a passion they've shared but also a cornerstone of their relationship, something Adam eagerly anticipates and cherishes.

One of Adam's most cherished climbing memories is captured in the photo above, showing Max and him conquering "Freedom's Just Another Word for Nothing Left to Lose" at Smith Rock circa 2016. It stands as a testament to their shared love for adventure and the outdoors, etched in Adam's heart as one of his all-time favorite climbing experiences.

Maid of honor, proud sister, supportive friend, sometime an advocate, shield, and protector, a coworker, a teacher, a hand holder, a shoulder, occasionally a good example, and more often than not a bad one. Our special bond made stronger by the shared experience of our bizarre childhood. As a big sister, Abby has played a lot of roles in Michaela's life. Abby had the honor and pleasure to see her evolve into the wonderful person she is today. She couldn't be happier to support her sister in this next chapter with such a kind and thoughtful partner whom Abby have grown to love and think of as a brother.

Eddie's first encounter with Max took place at Birdsboro Quarry, where Max was conquering Opposing Gravity, leaving Eddie a bit star-struck. Quickly, Max became one of Eddie's most cherished climbing partners. They've witnessed each other's growth in a sport they both love, which has been deeply fulfilling journey.

Eddie's standout memory with Max is competing together in the grueling 24 Hours of Horseshoe Hell. They pushed each other to the limits, climbing until delirium set in, forging a bond that goes beyond climbing partners—they're kindred spirits in adventure and endurance.

Elina's friendship with Michaela began with fateful glances at soccer tryouts in 10th grade. From those awkward moments blossomed a bond that turned Michaela into an honorary member of Elina's family. Elina treasures countless memories of laughter and camaraderie, all rooted in supporting Michaela's comedic genius and forging new friendships together.

In the summer of 2009, on the eve of the first day of 12th grade, Joey met a very handsome man in a backyard. Over the next 15 years, a relationship was build on the foundation of Wu-tang, Spraynard, and diner food. A friend like Max is hard to come by and easy to love.

Alexandria and Mickey have been dear friends for the past 9 years or so. Climbing and community brought them together but, as two misfits they have become family and built a supportive and nourishing relationship together. 

This picture above represents a beautiful moment in Valldemossa. Like so many of Alexandria's favorite moments with Mickey, this trip was filled with so many laughs, spaces of pure bliss, reflection and joy along the oceanside. Alexandria really cherishes her time spent with Mickey and looks forward to many more adventures throughout their life together.

Scott met Max like many of other degenerates- at the "big wall" of Birdsboro outdoor climbing. They immediately started talking complete nonsense and became fast climbing partners and friends. For some reason, after only a couple weeks of friendship, Scott decided to invite Max to his wedding as an honorary groomsman. Now Scott is honored to be a part of his!

Sean and Mickey's story began at Arcadia during their first week of college. Their bond deepened when a mouse invasion led Sean to heroically confront Barney, only to  discover he could out-scream Mickey and Allie any day. Soon, Sean's presence became a fixture in Allie and Mickey's laundry pile turned bed. When together, they share endless laughter and cherish every moment spent in each other's company.

The first time Carl met Max was in passing in 2015 through a mutual friend Matt Kelly at The Red River Gorge. Then a year later their paths crossed again in Bishop, California. Throughout the years they became base bros and Aidan fan boys which has kept their friendship fresh and silly. 

The night that Carl sent bootleg with Max and Ricky is one of his favorite memories, or the time max sent Proper Soul in the New River Gorge... Or possibly the time that Max threw the rings off a cliff proposing to Mickey.... All Carl knows is he has a lot of great memories with Max that are filled with crow calls, hootin, hollerin, and a lot of laughter!

Allie and Mickey embarked on their journey as freshman roommates at Arcadia University, where their bond has blossomed into a treasure trove of joy, laughter, and profound understanding. Their adventures began early on when they bravely faced off against a rat named Barney, with their newfound friend Sean joining them in an all-night pursuit that forged an enduring friendship. Mickey has become not just a friend but family to Allie, and being there for Mickey on her wedding day is another cherished chapter in their story of mutual support and love.

Nobody really knows when Max and Alex met, but what they do know is when their bromance came to be. Together they share a passion for mediocre boulders and late 90’s/early 2000’s female fronted bangers, a perfect recipe for a friendship he never wants to lose.

Sarah and Michaela first crossed paths on a climbing adventure in West Virginia back in 2022, and their connection was instant. Their friendship flourished through numerous escapades, from Chattanooga to Spain, where they bonded over their shared passions for intricate board games, cats who enjoy pizza, and strumming ukulele melodies. Sarah's fondest memory with Mickey? Those unforgettable moments dancing to Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie" across the beautiful island of Mallorca.

Max and Toni met in the tire-filled halls of Reading Rocks climbing gym. A friendly gym rivalry morphed into simply a friendship as Max and Toni indulged in the glory of nature and mischief while venturing to climbing destination across the east coast and south. They two formed an inexplicable and irreverent bond on long drives and sleeping in close quarters of Max's Honda Element. Now after years of commitment, Toni will finally get the chance to marry Max..... To the woman he loves, Mickey.

Hi All, we know that Ilion, NY is a bit of a drive for many of you. So, we welcome you to make it a weekend event! There will be limited onsite accommodations available from Friday-Sunday. Cancellation: Standard cancellation policy for individual guest rooms is 48 hours prior to arrival date to avoid penalty. This is about 40min away from Ilion, NY but, you should "expect to be challenged physically and mentally as most of the course plays "over the hills and through the woods." But this is no joy-ride to Grandma's house as the hills can be steep and the woods are ever ready to snag the errant toss! Favors a technical game over pure distance. A wonderful mix of risk vs. reward."

Oxbow Falls Park Disc Golf Course

Little Falls is a collection of small crags near the town of Little Falls, NY. While this is certainly no destination area, it is a good choice for climbers in Western and Central New York who want to climb outside but can't make the drive to the&nbsp;<a href="http://www.mountainproject.com/v/new_york/the_gunks/105798167" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Gunks&nbsp;</a>or Adirondacks. The various areas contain a mix of climbing types, with a mix of toprope, trad, sport, and bouldering.

Rock Climbing

These trails are great for hiking, running, or biking. It's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are April through October.
