It all started when groomsman Tyler Wilde introduced Allen and Michaela at local music venue, the Colonel, in Cody. Well, sort of.

After a brief conversation about work, life, and the cabin Allen just moved into up the South Fork, the two parted ways, neither of them thinking much of the interaction.

Michaela was working at Northwest College in Powell at the time when one morning, a coworker asked if she knew someone named Allen Doyle, suggesting that he and Michaela would make a wonderful couple.

Michaela shrugged off the suggestion—not once, not twice, but several times. Conversations between this coworker and Michaela about this mysterious Allen Doyle fellow continued for several months, unbeknownst to him. In fact, the coworker even offered to email Allen to see if he would be interested in taking Michaela on a date. Not wanting to appear desperate, Michaela, once again, declined.

In December 2022, despite not seeing each other for about a year, the two reconnected while joking about silly first date ideas. A few days later, they went on their first date—a five-hour-long venture involving Thai food and conversation, ranging from music and hobbies to passions and future goals.

At the end of the date, Allen walked Michaela back to her car. She side-hugged him, said "you take care now," and drove away. Allen left, worried about whether or not she'd enjoyed the date. Michaela left, thinking "how do I convince this man to marry me?"

They now live in Laramie with their dog, Brie, and are enjoying all the events and outdoor activities the community has to offer.
