Michaela and Andy first met in the summer 2008 after the Ranfts moved into the North Willow Farms neighborhood. Their relationship launched during those summer days at the neighborhood pool where Andy lifeguarded and Michaela regularly got sunburnt. After a few false starts here and there, the pair began dating in the fall semester of their senior year at North Central High School.       …….       After four years in Bloomington and two years in the real world (including one year back in North Willow), Andy knew it was time to ask Michaela a very important question. Using Michaela's sister and roommate as a free consulting firm, the hopeful fiance-to-be found the perfect ring and opportunity to surprise his “unsurprisable” girlfriend. With the grace of both Matt and Diane, Andy knew he only had a few hours before someone was liable to unconsciously tip Michaela off.       …….       The next day, under the guise of mountain biking trip in Louisville s mega cavern, Andy led a naive Michaela into the depths of the underground park. Not wanting to waste the trip, Andy selfishly waited until the fun of the park had almost been exhausted before he gave her a quick kiss and went down on a knee. In a mix of a yell and a whisper Michaela managed an “Of course!” before tears came running down and shock set in. After a lot of crying, some helmeted kisses, a very amateur photoshoot, a few cups of coffee, and a trip to the nail salon, the excited couple spread the great news to relatives and friends before arriving to a celebratory dinner with their families. Overall, it was a pretty great day.
