Stone and Michaela met in the middle of 2019 while they were coworkers at Walmart in Le Mars, Iowa. Over the course of working together, they began to learn about all the things they have in common. They learned they both enjoyed the same type of music (Panic! At the Disco being a big one) and movies (Star Wars and Harry Potter being two big ones). They also discovered they both had a love for Halloween.

In 2020, Covid helped them become even closer (ironic because of social distancing rules). They started to play video games together, enjoying each other's company, and being there to listen to the other’s problems or drama they happened to be going through at the time.

In 2021, they finally discovered that they had feelings for each other and began dating in June. In December that same year they moved in together with Michaela’s son, Leyton. In May of 2022, the three of them got their dog, Milo. Over the next year, the little family of four spent a lot of time together by watching movies, Leyton’s sporting events, and playing video games.

Michaela’s 30th birthday in 2023 was an important date for all. Stone had promised Michaela (she kind of forgot about that promise) that she would be engaged by the time she turned thirty and he was running out of time. So on the day of her birthday, they go out with friends to celebrate. They had a fun time and were back to the apartment still hanging out with friends (well after midnight). Stone decided they needed to toast to something and he couldn’t quite figure out what to toast too. He then went “Well, we could toast to this,” and got on one knee and proposed with a bread tie (he couldn’t find a ring that screamed Michaela but luckily her friend Jeri had an extra silicone ring). Of course Michaela said yes even though technically he missed his deadline. They quickly agreed to an October wedding and the rest is still being written.
