What is the dress code for the Alaska reception?
Formal /Semi Formal. Let this be a good reason to dress up! besides running errands to town... Service members, feel free to wear military dress attire!
Is the Alaska Reception indoors or outdoors?
It is mainly indoor with outdoor common spaces.
Will there be alcohol?
Yes. There will be a keg, margaritas and after curfew there will be liquor options available. And water of course. There will be alcohol free options for kids as well. Parents, feel free to bring along young children's preferred drinks and snacks!
Are children invited?
Child invites will be specified in the addressing of the invites envelopes themselves. Please pay attention to this! We do not have a whole lot of room so we have only invited a select few children. Thank you for understanding!
Can I bring a plus-one?
All plus one invites will be added onto the addressing of your invite itself. Please pay attention to this! If we did not add a "plus one" to your invite, we are sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for understanding!
Is there parking at the venue?
Yes! There will be parking for early birds and unattended students that will want/need to leave at curfew. We will also have shuttling available from the large parking space above. We will include signs to help direct! Dock access available for boaters as well. Carpooling on land and water is suggested!
Are you registered anywhere?
Yes! We have an Amazon Wedding Registry. On Amazon, go to the "Wedding Registry" drop down and search our name(s)!
Can we bring gifts to the Reception?
Yes! We will have a gift/card table setup. This is optional.
Can we take photos during the Reception?
This is a tough one... We want you to be able to have photos on your phones but we will also have a disposable camera at each table that will hold 27 photos each. Please fill these with memories! Please do not post your photos until the bride and groom have released their professional photos. Thank you for understanding!
What is the general timeline?
The evening starts at 4 pm with cocktail hour. Dinner will start at 5 pm with dessert afterwards. After toasts, about 6 pm, there will be cake cutting then the first dance and parent dances. Following this, we will have family friendly dance music where everyone is welcome on the dance floor. Student curfew is at 8pm where family friendly music will come to an end. When students and others who want to leave are gone, the explicit music will come on and the garter toss and bouquet toss will end the events at about 8:15 pm. Liquor will be available at this time.
Can my child play on or around the docks?
The child must wear a life vest to be on the dock at all times at the lodges request. It is law. Please do not leave your children unattended around the water!
What sort of entertainment will my child have?
Coloring pages and crayons will be available. The child(ren) are allowed to dance along with everyone but please make sure they are off the floor during the bride and groom dances and the parent dances. Thank you for understanding!
