Please join us for a wondrous night of butterflies, fossils, cocktails and frivolity as Ron and I tie the knot.
The ceremony will be held in the magical butterfly garden of the museum at 6:00pm. Afterward, cocktails will be served in the Thompson Gallery adjacent to the garden. Dinner will be severed shortly thereafter in the Denny Gallery, the main entrance of the museum.
Be sure to bring your boogie shoes and Patrick Swayze spirit to the dance floor! Choreographed dance routines, rap battles and disco competitions are welcome- consider yourself SERVED.
Don't forget your curiosities about Florida's natural history, as the museum's permanent exhibits will be open for the duration of the reception. Please explore and enjoy!
We can't wait to see you there! Cheers!
*The red tape-seeing as the museum is located on the University of Florida campus, the staff has a few rules they would like us to notify you about.
1) The museum is open to the public until 5pm, and then closes for 30 minutes to prepare for special events. Please do not try to enter the museum until 5:30pm(Seriously, they will charge us an extra fee for early guest arrival. Ron has a particular set of skills-he will find you and he will bill you).
2) Weather permitting- The butterfly garden ceremony will take place in a screened terrarium. While there will be some shade and a waterfall that keeps the environment cool, please dress appropriately for a warm Florida evening. The butterfly garden is standing room only.
3) The butterfly garden is regulated by the EPA (Dude, right?!). For the protection of the birds and butterflies that live there, any live plants brought into the garden, must remain in the garden. So if you plan to fancy yourself up with live flowers or plants, please know that you will have to sacrifice them to the butterfly gods before reentering the museum.
4)Shoes! This is a classy-ass establishment! You gotta keep your shoes on at all times. So bring a separate pair of comfy dancing shoes if you don't want to wear your fancy kicks all night. No barefoot boogie-ing. Sorry
