Our Wedding

Who would have thought that amongst the Pandemic love would be found. Thanks to Facebook and the 1000 Islands, we matched on 7/5/20 and it has all been an adventure from there. We started chatting within Facebook, then slowly moved to text messages and then care packages. When Jason started to include gifts for Makayla, Makayla knew he was serious. We were first supposed to meet in early 2021, but the border closure kept getting extended. It ended up not being until Aug of 2021 that the borders were opened and Michele could go into Canada. What a long night that was. As Michele got to the border, the border agent told her that her COVID test had expired and that he couldnt permit her to cross into Canada. With the help of her friends, she found a hospital in Watertown, slept in the waiting room waiting for a COVID test and then drove to the border the next day. Upon arriving to the border, the agent told her it was the wrong COVID test and again she wasnt permitted to cross into Canada. With help of the manager of border control, Michele was able to finally cross into Canada, and drive to Gananoque and finally meet Jason. Jason was finally able to cross in October of 2021 and a month later traveled with Michele, Makayla, her niece Shae, her parents and her cousins to Curaçao. Michele knew if he could survive a trip with practically strangers a month after meeting them he was here to stay.

How we met

While on vacation in Outer Banks, North Carolina, Jason took the opportunity to propose to Michele. They watched the sunrise every morning, and on the morning of July 2, 2022, Jason went down one knee and asked Michele to marry him. Since then, we try to catch as many sunrises as possible but also ensure we watch the sunsets too.
