If your passport is expiring within 6 months after your trip, the airport may not let you fly internationally. You need to renew your passport if it expires before February 2025 to completely avoid any issues. Also, check to make sure your passport has at least one entirely blank page, if not, it's time to renew!
Please read all of these tips before searching for flights:
You're going to want to book your flights early. This will give you the most options as well as the cheapest options.
Please do not search for flights from the US with Paros as your final destination (ex. JFK-PAS) – at least when using Google Flights. The price is freakishly high when you do that, and the itineraries are crazy with several stops. We don’t want you to get discouraged by searching that way. It is best to build your own itinerary.
You'll want to book two entirely separate tickets.
Search for tickets from major US city airports (EWR, JFK, IAD etc.) to Athens, Greece. PHL now has a non-stop flight to Athens through American Airlines! The prices for these flights seem to range drastically but I have seen them as low at $730 round trip - so don't overlook PHL!
Separately, search for tickets to Paros***, Greece from Athens (you can only get flights directly to Paros Island from Athens or Thessaloniki, Greece). The ticket to Paros from Athens should be <$200 round trip.
Double and triple check to make sure the timing lines up with your flight to and from Athens, pay close attention to the dates as you will most likely arrive in Athens the following morning after you leave the US, and give yourself ample time between flights (>2.5 hours). You will need the extra time since these flights aren’t part of the same itinerary, meaning you will need to “self-transfer”. When you arrive in Athens, you’ll need to proceed as if Athens is your final destination: go through customs and grab any checked bags. Then in the same fashion you’ll need to get on your flight to Paros as if it is your only flight, check in and check your bags and go through security before getting to your gate.
*** Sometimes, when you search for flights to Paros in Google Flights it automatically shows you flights to Mykonos, an entirely different island. Pay close attention to the airport code – there is only one airport in Paros and the code is PAS, search by airport code instead of “Paros” to avoid this confusion. I’m sure you’d have a lot of fun in Mykonos but you’d be missed at our wedding! ***
Alternatives to flying into Paros:
If you have a little extra time and want to save some money - think about taking a ferry from Athens to the island. This is my preferred way to get to the island, mostly because I absolutely hate flying.
In our past trips, Tedi and I have taken a ferry from Athens (Piraeus Port) to Paros (Parikia) instead of flying there. This can save some money (one way ferry ticket is ~$40), but takes a long time, ~4 hours as opposed to a 30 min flight, plus ~ 1 hour to get from Athens airport to Piraeus. The ferry ride is beautiful and the ship is massive, which is a nice change from being cramped on a plane for 10 hours. There is no free WiFi, though, so start your vacation early by enjoying the views and having some wine.
Get to Piraeus Port by taking the train from the Athens airport station via Bus Line 3. This should cost ~9 euros per person.
You can also hire a cab, which will cost $50-70 but may be a good option if you are traveling with several people or if you have large luggage.
The port in Paros (Parikia) is on the opposite side of the island from Piso Livadi. If you are renting a car, be sure to rent it from a company that has cars for pick-up in Parikia.
Even if we take the ferry there, we have always taken a one way flight from Paros back to Athens to get home because the timing doesn’t work out well with ferries back to Athens if you are flying back to the US the same day. But, depending on your plans, this could work out very well if you want to do sightseeing in Athens.
If you need any help at all looking for flights/ferries or have any questions about getting to Paros, please text or call us.

About Logaras and Piso Livadi, where the wedding venue is located:
Piso Livadi has a relaxed, low-key beach town atmosphere. There are several hotels, bars, and restaurants on the beach or on the port. Besides having its own beaches, it is also located within close driving distance to some of the best beaches on the island. We enjoy staying in Piso Livadi because it’s very beautiful, not crowded, affordable, and fun!
Almost all of the rooms at the venue (Fisilanis) have been booked for our family guests, so there is very limited availability there that week. It would be best to look at the nearby hotels, instead. It is a very compact town, all of the hotels linked below are incredibly close to the venue.
If you’d like to stay within walking distance to the wedding venue (highly recommended, as there are no taxis/reliable public transport), consider the following hotel options:
Magoo Suites (basically attached to Fisilanis)
Cactus Beach Paros (basically attached to Fisilanis)
Arkas Inn (2 min walk)
Paros Inn Hotel (2 min walk)
Akteon Hotel (2 min walk)
Meltemi Studios (2 min walk)
Deep Blue Studios (2 min walk)
We also recommend searching for AirBnbs or using Booking.com to find accommodations. Booking.com has a big presence in Paros and there are lots of options there you might not find otherwise.
Since AirBnb doesn't show you the address until you book, I've provided a link to a list of AirBnbs that are for sure within safe walking distance to the venue (just change the dates to match your plans of course).
If you'd like a luxury option, consider Summer Senses Luxury Resort. It is the closest luxury resort to the venue but it is about 10-15 minute walk.
If you’d like to stay elsewhere on the island, that is totally fine too! Just note that, as stated above, there are no rideshares/taxis/reliable public transport available, so please make plans to drive home safely after the wedding and reception.
If you're staying in Logaras/Piso Livadi and only plan to stay for a couple days for the wedding, a car really isn't necessary. The beach there is great, the food is awesome, and there are markets, bars, and restaurants within a 5 mins walk. It's likely that your hotel will offer some sort of airport transfer service for free or an added cost.
If you'd like to explore other parts of the island, we recommend you book a rental car for pick-up at the Paros airport or in Parikia if you're taking the ferry in. Expect to pay about $50/day for an automatic car. If you know how to drive stick, you'll save some money on this. The cars are small and they hold 5 people maximum. As long as you have a rental car, you’ll have easy access to any activities you’d like to do all over the island on your own, with a group, or with us. There is plenty of free parking very close to the venue.
