Michelle and Alex met through the online dating site okCupid. They spent some time exchanging messages before going on their first date on April 11, 2013. What was supposed to be just a drink after work turned into hours of talking about how much they had in common! After that first date, they were inseparable!

How We Met...

Last May, as Alex and Michelle were packing to head to wine country for Michelle's birthday, Alex had one last question before they headed out for their trip - and he asked her to marry him! Of course she said yes, and the two had a wonderful "engagement-moon" vacation!

Our Story

Details

Ben is Alex's younger brother. They tackled players together as linebackers in high school, and they tackled beers together as scholarly gentlemen at UCSB.  These activities of course led to many fun times later in life roughhousing with Ben's sons, the ring bearers.

Millicent is Michelle's younger sister. While a lot of their childhood was spent tormenting one another (mostly Michelle tormenting Millicent), their adulthood was spent exploring college life in San Diego and post-college life in the Bay Area together!

Geoff is Alex's friend and former SF roomie.  They've developed a certain bromance over the years, sharing a mutual love of disc golf, game nights, and sports!

Maureen is Michelle's baby sister/former SF roomie.  No matter where they are, they always know how to have a blast together, whether it's traveling the world together or just hanging out at home!

Natalie is Alex's younger sister (and soon to be Michelle's as well!!), and the proud owner of a mischievous, but lovable cat named Ponce (that Alex claims is his "favorite").  Always thoughtful and well in-touch with the animal kingdom, she is also credited for connecting Alex and Michelle with their wonderful pet lizard named Sam while in vet school.

Nick and Alex met in kindergarten and became fast friends. Unfortunately they were placed in different homeroom classes for several years but picked their friendship back up during high school. Since then, they've gone on a series of adventures together, whether it be a perilous boat cruise off Cabo , the bacchanalian streets of Isla Vista, or the debauchery of Vegas.

Jasmyn was Michelle's very first friend, meeting when Michelle was only 2 years old.  They lived next door to each other, and when their moms introduced them to each other, shy little Michelle hid behind her mom.  Little did she know, this new friend would bring some fun adventures to Michelle's life!

Mark and Alex grew up together in Piedmont, and each of them believed they would win if they ever fought each other.  They never did, and they had many more fun times together in their adult years in LA and the Bay Area.

Josh and Alex met at UCSB and both belonged to AEPi.  Although their friendship began in the "house built of papier-mache", they had many shenanigans afterward in LA, and could sometimes be found watching the Discovery channel together.

Marie and Michelle became friends in elementary school, bonding over their mutually absurd sense of humor. Over the years, they've grown so close that now even their families spend almost every holiday together!

Jon and Alex met back in their college days at UCSB when Jon was roommates with Alex's brother Ben. After graduation, they both eventually made their way to SF, where they became closer through a mutual love of baseball, fantasy sports, board games, and disc golf.

Kristen and Michelle became friends in elementary school, both killing it on the volleyball court in 6th grade and playing the flute in band. They got even cooler and grew closer as time went on, traveling through Europe and exploring the Bay Area together.

Max is Alex's adorable nephew and Ben's oldest son. Max and Alex often spend time building elaborate structures with legos and roughhousing!

Diana and Michelle met in high school, surviving band-nerd status, college shenanigans, and turning into ultra-cool adults!

Michelle and Michelle met in college at USD and instantly became friends, initially bonding over how cool their names were! Somehow the two survived that first year away from home together and became the best of friends in the process!

Caleb is Alex's other adorable nephew and Ben's youngest son. Caleb and Alex also enjoy spending time roughhousing and being tickled by one another.

Lejla is Bonnie and Zlatko's adorable daughter! Bonnie and Michelle have known each other since junior high, and Zlatko and Michelle have known each other since college.

The ceremony and reception will take place at Vintners Inn, as well as other weekend festivities, so it is definitely the most convenient location. The bride and groom will be staying here, and we would love it if you could spend the weekend with us! Sonoma County Airport (STS) is the closest airport to Vintners Inn - only about an 8 minute drive away.Oakland International Airport (OAK) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO) are much larger airports that accommodate more daily flights - each of these airports is a little over an hour away by car.

Spend the day wine tasting! Both Napa and Sonoma County have amazing wineries, and you really can't go wrong. Our favorite region is Dry Creek Valley near Healdsburg, where you'll find some of the best Zinfandels. Mazzocco, Ridge, Bella, Dutcher Crossing, Dry Creek Vineyards, Seghesio, and Sbragia are a few of our faves.

Wine Country

Santa Rosa is also the heart of what we lovingly refer to as Beer Country! There are some amazing breweries in the area, including Russian River Brewing Co., Bear Republic, and Lagunitas.

Spend a day shucking and enjoying fresh oysters! Both Bodega Bay and Tomales Bay are about a 40 minute drive from Santa Rosa.

The Bay Area has some of the most beautiful parks and trails for both hiking and biking. Muir Woods is definitely a favorite and only about an hour away from Santa Rosa.
