Where should we stay?
The ceremony and reception will be held at the Sound View Greenport in Greenport, NY. We have a room block (book at book.michelleandty.com) that is open to all invited guests. Additional hotels and nearby airbnbs can be found nearby. Note: more rooms are available even if the room block is booked. Please call the hotel directly and mention you are staying for the Smith-Heyman wedding.
What is the dress code?
The Ceremony and Reception is Black Tie Optional. (Men: Tuxedo or dark suit with tie. Women: Midi or floor-length evening gown or a formal cocktail dress, including a stylish pantsuit or jumpsuit)
We encourage shoes that are comfortable on the beach and dance floor! The ceremony will be outside on the beach. Dress for late October weather.
What is the nearest airport?
The nearest airport is Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) which is a 1 hour drive to Greenport, NY.
JFK and LaGuardia airports are also an option with a drive of about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
What should I pack?
The venue is on the water, prepare for fall weather and bring comfy clothes and shoes for some light outdoor socializing.
Where will the ceremony be held in case of rain?
If the weather doesn't permit the ceremony to take place on the beach, it will be indoors in the Halyard (where the Reception will be).
What transportation will be provided?
On Friday night, buses will bring guests from the Sound View hotel to Kontakosta Winery and back. It is about a 5 minute drive.
