What is the dress code?
The actual wedding events taking place on Saturday afternoon will be cocktail formal. To quote Google, this means "to strike a balance between formal and casual, as well as elegant and comfortable". If you are still lost, our general direction is that a knee-length, tea-length or midi dress, jumpsuit or dress pants would be appropriate for women, and pants, suit and tie, or a sport jacket is suitable for men. Please make sure you wear sensible shoes - while the property is not massive in size you will need to get yourself around on foot, and the paths and roads are unpaved gravel or grass.
What's the plan on Friday night?
We understand that a lot of our guests are travelling to Muskoka, so please do what you need to accommodate your work schedule and travel time. With that said, we would love for guests to arrive around check in time at 4pm, and for those possible, we will be hosting a welcome dinner in the main lodge at 6:30pm. Dinner is a buffet and food will be available until 8:30pm, so even if you are arriving late, there will be food for you! Details on the dinner are still to be confirmed, but will likely consist of a few welcome speeches and some extra details for the days to come.
Following dinner, we will be inviting everyone to change and join us for a bonfire.
*Friday night dinner will be a cash bar.
How do I RSVP and how do I book a cottage?
Click on the RSVP link on the website menu and search for your name. You will confirm your attendance, specify meal selection and provide some contact information.
Next step is to call Port Cunnington Lodge and provide your credit card information to reserve your accommodation. G&M will then be in touch to let you know your cottage assignment.
Call PCL at 1-800-894-1105 ext 100 and mention Michelle & Geoff's Wedding on September 13, 2025.
PCL will charge you 50% of the cost at the time of your call and the remaining 50% two weeks ahead of our arrival.
Please note: if you plan to attend our wedding, you must stay at Port Cunnington Lodge for two nights, from Friday to Sunday. Your RSVP is not complete until you call Port Cunnington and provide payment information. If this is an issue for you, please reach out to us and we would be happy to discuss in more detail. The cost per person for the weekend is roughly $420, and includes a two night stay and breakfast both mornings (unfortunately, it's not possible to opt out of the breakfast). We have thoughtfully placed all of our guests in the cottages on the property, so you do not need to call and reserve a cottage. When you contact Port Cunnington Lodge, they will have cottage assignments (which will we also communicate to you at the time of RSVP) and can give you more details. The rates of all of the guests is the same regardless of accommodations.
How did you assign the cottages?
G&M spent a lot of time thoughtfully placing all of our guests into the various cottages to ensure to the best of our abilities that you will be comfortable. This means: our families have been placed in the larger cottages together, we've placed friends with people they know and where possible given them 1-bedroom accommodations. We feel confident that you will find Port Cunnington Lodge to be incredibly well cared for and generous in space. It is worth noting that due to our 125-person guest list, we will not be taking requests for who you stay with. If you are feeling concerned about this (and we understand if you are), please reach out and let's chat! We know that we are asking a lot of our friends and family and we want you to enjoy your getaway weekend at PCL just as much as us. We encourage you to visit the Port Cunnington Lodge website to explore the cottages - you can virtually tour all 15 buildings to get a sense of the property. Each cottage has at a minimum a kitchenette and access to a BBQ if not a full service kitchen.
What will we do Saturday before the wedding?
The short answer is whatever you want! Hopefully we have some good September weather and it will be a great day to take a walk, hang out at one of the many docks or beaches, or play any of the variety of activities on the property (including basketball, tennis, racketball, horseshoes, lawn bowling, etc.). You could even make a tee time to golf if you'd like! Please enjoy your stay however you see fit. For those interested, the Groom will be organizing a 24-team single elimination Cornhole Tournament at 10:00AM on the main lawn. We’ll give more information on this on Friday night at dinner.
Will the wedding be inside or outside?
This is mostly weather dependent. If the weather is nice, we will have the ceremony on the main dock right by the water. If the weather is not great we will opt to use the renovated barn space on the property. We will communicate that to guests if the plans change. Cocktail hour will be indoor/outdoor weather permitting. Dinner and dancing will be inside the main lodge. If the weather is looking iffy, it might be wise to bring an umbrella! You will still need to get around outside regardless.
Are all meals included?
Mostly, yes! The bride and groom will be hosting dinner for all of our guests on the Friday and Saturday night. Included in your accommodation costs is access to the breakfast buffet both Saturday and Sunday morning. Please note, it is not possible to opt out of the breakfast as part of your weekend fees. If you would prefer to bring your own breakfast food, you are welcome to but, unfortunately, the cost for the weekend per person will be the same. The only meal you are responsible for is lunch on Saturday. As mentioned, all of the cottages have at a minimum a kitchenette and access to a BBQ, if not a full kitchen, so please plan with your cottage-mates for lunch and whatever additional snacks you might want to have. You will also want to pack your own beverages (of whatever variety you like) for the weekend. Friday night's dinner will be a cash bar, and Saturday night's dinner will be open bar. You may want to BYOB for the Friday bonfire and other time spent at your cottage hanging out throughout the weekend.
What should I bring?
Please check out the amenities page on the PCL website for more details on this: https://portcunningtonlodge.com/amenities/. Our suggestions for a packing list include: beach towel, coffee (coffee maker and filters provided), lunch for Saturday, snacks, drinks (and maybe something discreet to put them in because PCL would prefer you not walk around the property with an open beer can), basic toiletries, sports equipment, board games, camp chairs, an umbrella (just in case!), and your dancing shoes (and comfortable shoes for late-night dancing and walking around).
