Our Wedding

The MeetingAndy and Michelle met the old fashioned way: swiping right on Tinder (back before it became creepy and outdated). Playing it cool, Andy suggested the two grabbed some fancy cocktails at Leon's in Decatur, GA. The memory of the first date is mixed. While Michelle put this swipe in the "see again" pile, Andy thought perhaps she talked too much. Thankfully, he decided to look past it because of her cute smile. The AdultingDespite a few bumps along the way, at some point the two decided it was worth cohabitation. Over time, the Kirkwoodians migrated to Grant Park and merged their homesteads - further filling it with dogs, a cat, and too many chickens to easily count. Despite loving the comforts of home, after spending a LOT of time between 2020-2022 meant once some of the COVID fog cleared it was time to embark on the Ireland vacation they'd been talking about for years. The ProposalWhile Michelle did ponder whether Andy had finally decided to make it official on this journey, she was far too wrapped up in logistics and making sure Andy didn't have a pre-flight panic attack to give it much worry. Two days into the Irish journey the itinerary had them off to Redwood Castle. A long time home of Clan Egan, it had been on Andy's bucket list for years. After what turned out to be the most unique tour of their journey thanks to the owner Ms. Coleesa, they marched to the car to finish the drive to Galway - as Michelle made sure to remind Andy, they were going to miss check in chop chop. Thankfully, she listened when he grabbed her arm and said "Stop, I have a question..." - and then burst into tears. Michelle jumped into Andy's arm and screamed "Yes!" as he fumbled to pull a ring out of his pocket, that's right, his pocket. The Now - from Us!After all these years, we are so excited to celebrate with our favorite people! We can't wait to have you with us in June and have the opportunity to check out Andy's beloved Shenandoah Valley. xoxo A&amp;M

Luray, VA just under 90 minutes from both Dulles International Airport and Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport. Dulles is a larger airport with more travel options, but Charlottesville offers ease and convenience. For those traveling from Atlanta, Delta offers three direct flights to Charlottesville daily.

Shenandoah National Park is a land bursting with cascading waterfalls, spectacular vistas, fields of wildflowers, and quiet wooded hollows. With over 200,000 acres of protected lands that are haven to deer, songbirds, and black bear, there's so much to explore.

This is a short and pleasant hike, and has some of the best vistas in the Shenandoah National Park. Little Stony Man, just below the main peak, has a popular rock wall with local climbers. Make sure to pick a haze free day, because you don't want to miss all the views along the the ridge!
