In January 2018 Matt and I matched on Bumble. We swiped right. I swiped right because I saw that Matt had a dog, I also thought he was cute, but mostly for the dog. Matt swiped right because I was wearing a 49ers jersey (he didn't know then that it was a jersey I had bought for $4 from The Goodwill). We started talking and quickly decided to go on a date. Our first date was a walk (not going to lie I was dog deprived and was so excited to meet Mila) our first date only lasted an hour and I wasn't sure I would ever see Matt or Mila again. We continued to text and he ended up inviting me to a comedy show, the comedian was so bad we ended up leaving early. During that date we were able to have a much more relaxed and fun conversation. I decided I was going to kiss him that night, when I went in I slammed my nose on his face, it was magical...obviously. Our third date was very soon after that, Matt invited me over for dinner, that HE cooked. I was very impressed and I felt so comfortable with him I realized then I didn't want to ever date other dudes again. After our third date we were basically seeing each other every other day. On St. Patricks Day (I was in Santa Barbara) I was a little inebriated and texted Matt the eye emoji, heart emoji, and u. Two days later Matt told me he loved me. From (well, a little bit before) then on I have loved Matt as much as I can love someone else. I am so very fortunate to be loved by such a kind, funny, passionate, driven, and handsome man.
Michelle and I met on a dating ap. Shortly after matching, I received a message from Michelle with a simple, “Hi how are you?” I let her know all was going well and that I liked that she was a 49er fan (she wore a cute crop top jersey in front of Levi’s stadium in one of her pictures) & that I was a big fan of the team myself. She replied that she had just picked it up from a Goodwill and knew nothing about the team as she had just moved to the Bay Area from Orange County. I replied to her that she misspelled that she is “a huge 49er fan”. For some reason (thank god!) she actually found that to be funny. After a day or two of chatting, we decided to go out on a date. I really like taking my dog for walks at the Los Gatos Creek Trail so I suggested we meet there and walk around the water. That first date was not terrible but I would be lying if I said there were fireworks. I figured why not and asked Michelle to go on another date. I thought it might be more fun for us if we went to a comedy show and Chris Katan (the guy from A Night at the Roxberry – not Will Ferrell) was in town. We got there early, had a great conversation, and enjoyed the first two comics who we hadn’t heard of but were pretty funny. Chris Katan then came on stage and was terrible. We found it almost funny how we both thought the guy was so bad. I looked over at Michelle and suggested we leave early and on the way out, she offered to drop me off at my car. Michelle pulled up in front of my car and we talked for a bit longer. As we both needed to go home, we leaned in for a good night kiss. I didn’t know it at the time but Michelle has since told me she was nervous, which is probably why she accidentally poked me in the eye with her nose. We both laughed a bit and had our first kiss. I’m not sure if it was the poke to the eye but I was definitely seeing the fireworks then! We had a third date where I cooked her dinner and after that things began to blur together as we have been inseparable since.
