Not love at first sight, but look where we are now!

6 Years later and it’s time for the big “I Do's”.

Believe it or not, we met at a braai and at the end of the braai we danced the night away! The next day Philip sent me a message after getting my number from a friend and started asking me lots of things and well, just to get to know me. At that time I really wasn’t interested in a boyfriend and I was trying my very best to get that message through to Philip. After a while my mother told me I have no choice but to go on a date with Philip and atleast give him 1 chance before I am allowed to become a lonely crazy dog lady.

Needles to say, my mom was right. That first date was the best decision of my life. After having 3 first dates in 1 week we were drunk in love. Stargazing at the Union buildings in Pretoria, having super long tea sessions after church and being inseparable for 5 months we became facebook official.

We both are super social and love our friends and families, so it was really important that we could get along with each other’s people.

After being together for 1 year, Philip gave me a promise ring with the date 14/11/2020 engraved in it. We made a promise to hopefully get engaged or married on that day.

On 14/11/2020 Philip got down on one knee, surrounded by all the lights of Pretoria and the stars from above. He promised to keep my heart safe, care for me and always be my best friend. It was the easiest, most emotional, loudest YES I have ever given.

So this is were our journey is now… wedding planning for our big day, on 11/12/2021 where we are promising ourselves to be drunk on love, stargazing and dancing in the kitchen forever and always.
