FAQ

Travel & Arrival

When should I arrive and leave?

We recommend arriving at least a day or two before the ceremony (2/28/2026) to settle in and enjoy the resort. As for leaving - there's no rush! If you'd like to stay for a longer getaway, you're more than welcome to stay and enjoy extra time.

Which airport should I fly into?

Cancun International Airport (CUN)

How do I get to the resort from the airport?

The resort offers free airport transfers when you book your stay through the Excellence official website for a stay of at least 3 nights. In your resort confirmation email, see "Airport Transfers" for booking information with Seasons Tours. If staying for less than 3 nights, or you wish to arrange your own service, we recommend:

Happy Shuttle Cancun: https://happyshuttlecancun.com/

Resort & Booking

How do I book a room?

See our "Travel" page for step-by-step instructions on booking a room and using the group-rate code.

What is included in the price of the resort?

The Excellence Riviera Cancun resort reservation includes: room, cafe (pastries and coffee), dining, and bars (including alcoholic and non-alocholic beverages). The resort offers daily activities identified in their mobile application, weather permitting. Some activities such as deep-sea fishing, private yacht excursions, and scuba diving are not included and marked as "extra cost." It does not include "Excellence Club" amenities, spa services, or gift shop purchases.

Where can I find the group-rate code?

The booking code for our wedding group was provided on the Details insert with our Save the Date magnets. Text us if you need a code reminder! :)

Can I share the group-rate code with others?

We kindly ask that you don't share the group code outside of our guest list. The number of rooms booked under our group directly affects how we are charged for the wedding. Thank you for understanding!

Is there a dress code for the resort?

The restaurants and bars at the resort have different dress codes of different ranges. Please see details under Excellence Riviera Cancun > Flavors & Spirits or through the link below:

What should I pack?

The #1 priority item we recommend bringing....

SUNSCREEN! For those who require sunscreen, we recommend planning to pack plenty as the resort sells it at a premium price.

On the day you arrive at the resort...

In our experience, it could be 3pm before your hotel room is ready. We recommend packing your swimsuit, sunscreen, or other attire you'd like to change into at the resort in a beach/pool friendly bag. The hotel staff will hold on to your luggage until your room is ready, so that you're free to explore the resort, beach, and pools in the meantime!

Should I bring cash for tips?

Gratuities are not required but you are welcome to show your appreciation for any staff based on individual preferences and the service received.

The Wedding & Events

Are there wedding activities on other days other than Saturday, February 28?

TBD

Do I need to RSVP?

Yes, please! Official invites and RSVP information will be sent.

Where is the wedding going to take place at the resort?

The ceremony will be held on the beach. The reception will be held at the Las Olas restaurant on the beach which has wooden-plank floors.

What time is the wedding?

The ceremony will start at 5pm with cocktail hour and reception to follow.

What is the dress code for the ceremony and reception?

Dress code will be beach-cocktail attire. Men: Button downs and slacks/pants (tie and/or jacket optional). Women: Dress, skirt and blouse, or long pants. Please no shorts, jeans, or flip flops.

...but Wait There's More!

What if we run into you at the resort before or after the wedding? Should I say hi or pretend I don't know you?

Say hi! We'll be wandering around and would love to see everyone to share a drink, hang at the pool, or grab a bite. That said, we will let you know if we want to take some time for ourselves to recharge.

Do you have a wedding registry? Should I bring a gift?

Nope! We're not doing a registry - we truly have everything we need and kindly ask for no gifts. We are so excited to celebrate with everyone on our special day in beautiful Cancun!

We also recommend bringing...

A reusable cup (e.g. insulated tumbler with lid) to pour your drinks into at the beach/pool. It is not required as the staff will serve drinks in normal glasses, but having your own tumbler with a lid will keep the sand out and your drink cold.
