With it being the 21st century, this love story began over social media! Zach noticed they went to school together at the University of Texas at Arlington and reached out over Instagram three times before Mikaela finally decided to "give the kid a chance." With the third time being the charm, on December 1st 2020, Mikaela and Zach started to get to know each other and boy was Mikaela glad she messaged back! It took only a month for Mikaela to realize she had a keeper and their first date was ice skating on January 8, 2021. For those who don't know Zach well, let's just say he was sitting on ice more than skating on it. That night they shared their first kiss at sunset under the mistletoe. Zach even picked and brought it on the date when he found out Mikaela had never been kissed under the mistletoe. Over the next few months, Zach and Mikaela had many fun dates and experiences. Some of their favorite dates/activities were going to concerts and walking to the lake at sunset.

Their first trip together was to Hot Springs, Arkansas, but their favorite trip so far has been to Nassau, Bahamas! Traveling is something the couple loves to do and wants to continue well after their wedding. Their next trip is their honeymoon to Las Vegas, Nevada!

In December 2022 both Mikaela and Zach graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington. Their next big step together was moving to an apartment in March 2023. As they started to near their third year together, Mikaela began to get very curious about Zach "popping" a certain question soon! When she least expected it, on September 23, 2023, Zach proposed at sunset by the lake.

Ever since that day, Mikaela has been in planning mode for the "big day" (keyword there is Mikaela). However, Mikaela did tell Zach he had to ask AT LEAST one question for every vendor meeting. Shouldn't be too hard right...? Throughout the process though Zach started to get more excited and has enjoyed giving his opinion on things (FINALLY).

With the wedding being less than a year away, both Mikaela and Zach are counting down the days until they can say "I do". Both are so happy to include you all in the next part of their love story! They can't wait to see you in Mansfield, Texas on January 16, 2025!
