A little over a year ago, both were perusing the dating app called Hinge and matched quickly. Chase's location was set to Manns Choice, as he was home for the holidays visiting his family. Mikaela messaged Chase asking if he was too good to be true, because she had never seen or met him before. Chase messaged back saying that he actually lives in Norfolk, Virginia. The two exchanged numbers, but the talking ended there. Until April of 2024, when Mikaela randomly messaged Chase again, asking about how he was doing. The two quickly picked up where they left off. And within just a few visits back and forth to each other's homes, they were stuck together like glue. Chase proposed on their one month anniversary, with his late mother's wedding ring. It was the last hour they spent together before Mikaela was due to drive back to Pennsylvania. The two were walking the beach when Chase asked Mikaela to turn around while he was down on one knee.
