The year of 2020 brought so much darkness, but little did either of us know it would give us the brightest light, each other. Edwin and I often look back at the moment we met and instant laughter fills the room.
On June 27th he walked into my parents dance studio to audition for company. He thought I was just a “random judge my parents hired” and I instantly thought “well who is this talented guy… ehh I’m sure he’s cocky.” Little did either of us know then.
My parents ended up putting Edwin under a year scholarship at the studio where he was able to train and compete. If it wasn’t for that opportunity, Edwin and I would still be complete strangers. So thank you mom and dad.
I know many people use the phrase “we just clicked” when telling their story but there’s no better explanation than that. Edwin and I became the best of friends. We were inseparable.
Time passed and as Edwin’s journey as a dancer came to an end he then came to my parents praying for the opportunity to become a part of the studio’s staff. He became the piece of our puzzle we didn’t know was missing.
Edwin and I knew we had an indescribable connection and both shared the strongest passion for dance and teaching, but as time passed we realized that connection was so much deeper than dance or a friendship. We shared a love for one another that is hard to even put into words. We became each other’s person, each other’s rock, each other’s half.
Here we are now almost 4 years later preparing for the next chapter of our lives to unfold. Together we have already accomplished so much. We’ve over come so much. We have succeeded and made mistakes. We have endlessly laughed yet held each other and cried. We’ve traveled. We’ve made a house a home. We’ve grown as individuals but even stronger as one. Our relationship has proven to truly be something we know only God can conjoin.
So many people have watched Edwin and I grow up and also grow together. We can not wait to share the day we officially become one alongside the people we love the most. Our love story is one so special. A love we know is a once in a lifetime type of love. Sharing it with you all is something we have dreamed of for so long and will now become our reality. We can’t thank you enough for the endless love and support.
So much love,
The Future Dodds’
