Imagine that the app Hinge connected a New Yorker and a New Jersian who moved to the same town in West Virginia (not to mention, a mile away) on the same weekend. Some call it coincidence, others call it fate. For Mikayla and Zach, it was truly meant to be. After weeks texting over Hinge, the two met in the Super Shoes parking lot on August 19th, 2021 in Martinsburg, WV to discuss where to go for dinner. Naturally, they went to Zach's favorite restaurant: Chipotle. Hours of laughter turned into spending everyday together. They went on incredible adventures throughout West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey. Besides traveling, Mikayla and Zach love to watch sports (and Dancing with the Stars, don’t let Zach tell you otherwise), play video games, work out, consume ice cream (a lot of it), and try new activities together. Their relationship has allowed Mikayla and Zach to grow with new perspectives and experiences in life with the ultimate goal to be partners for life. On February 4th, 2023, Zach got down on one knee and proposed to Mikayla! A week later, Mikayla moved to New Jersey to start her dream job at L'Oréal while Zach stayed in West Virginia to finish medical school. Quite a way to start off an engagement! However, if anything can be said about their relationship, it's that nothing can stop their love, through every triumph and hardship, no matter the distance. Mikayla and Zach are thrilled to celebrate their love story with you all! The country roads of West Virginia truly do take you home.

They say misery loves company, if you are ever looking for Zach and his college roommate Troy, they are probably screaming at a TV somewhere watching Chelsea Football. Having spent some of the more challenging years of college together, Troy and Zach found a way to get stuff done (to varying levels) all while having a good time.

Mikayla's future sister-in-law! Jess and Mikayla are excited to finally be sisters! Together, they love to work out, spot dogs in the wild, and talk chemistry (Jess is a chemistry teacher).

Zach's only family member by choice! You can always find Aaron by listening closely enough for his signature laugh. Zach and Aaron bond over sports, medicine and who can  shove their foot in their mouth first!

Mikayla's sorority big sister! Gabi is a Biomedical Engineering PhD candidate at UVA and is a world traveler! She also is a board game extraordinaire, coffee enthusiast, and will voluntarily jump out of an airplane! With both beauty and brains, it's no wonder that Mikayla looks up to Gabi as a role model.

The youngest Bloom cousin who is by nature a sports encyclopedia and can be found calling out penalties in football games before the referee's do. Zach certainly look's up to his younger cousin, all 6 feet of him.

Mikayla's sorority little sister! Together, Kayla and Mikayla love to swap recipes, chat about makeup, and explore different cities! Kayla also is a Civil Engineer who loves to run marathons frequently!

Meeting through the Chemical Engineering program at Virginia Tech, Mikayla and Rachel have been tight knit since 2020! Rachel and Mikayla FaceTime frequently to discuss Taylor Swift over a glass of Barefoot Pink Moscato. Fun fact: Rachel has a rescue dog named Daisy Mae!

Chris and Zach have known each other for far too long. Having first met in 3rd grade and then going to college together, these two really knew each other in their "primes". You get to decide when that was.

High school bestie of Mikayla, the two have been inseparable despite their now long distance friendship. Jess and Mikayla obsess over everything Disney, K-Pop, and working out. As a future nurse, Jess's energy and big heart are just some of her traits that make her so loveable! 

Jessica Fecht

The middle cousin of the Bloom's who much like the middle sibling is just different (he doesn't like the Giants). Zach and Matt can talk sports all day, and although living far away, no time has passed when they get together.

Transportation To and From the Celebration

For those staying at the hotel, we have arranged for transportation to and from South Gate Manor for your convenience. Shuttles will depart the Hampton Inn Old Bride at 3:15 sharp. Shuttles will be available for transport from South Gate Manor back to the Hampton Inn Old Bridge starting once the reception ends at 10:30pm.

If you are staying here Saturday night, Mikayla and Zach with their families will be at the Buffalo Wild Wings on Route 9 in Morganville, NJ around 9pm to hang out. This is ~4 minutes from the hotel.
