It all started with an ice cold beer……and Mikayla carrying way to many’s things into her now future sister in laws house warming party. The day began with Matt kindly asking Mikayla if he could help her out, and take some things inside. As the party continued and he went off to play drinking games and entertain his younger cousins, it didn’t take long for Mikayla to see the good in Matt. Which led her to asking Amber “Who is the kid with tattoos doing cartwheels?”

Once the food was finished, Matt decided at that point, he would finally drop his beer right in front of Mikayla, asking her to “keep an eye on this” while he moved some furniture around. Little did they both know at the time, that his one beer would trigger a night full of meaningful conversations, flirty banter, long laughs, and exchanging phone numbers in the early morning hours of the following day, before finally leaving.

From that point on they found each other constantly talking day in and day out about their love for family, friends, and dogs…but those conversations, much like the night they met always led to a late night. FaceTime calls discussing each others goals in life and career, poking fun at each other, and eventually falling asleep seemed to occur almost nightly. As fate would have it, long nights on the phone soon turned into even longer nights together.

As weeks turned to months, Matt and Mikayla quickly became inseparable. Spending their days at art festivals, food truck events, different beaches with the dogs, trips up to New Hampshire, or simply rewatching Harry Potter for the 5th time curled up on the couch. It didn’t matter what they did or where they were, as long as they were together there was no shortage of happiness.

Fast forward to today, where Matt and Mikayla having hosted their own housewarming party, continue to laugh with and at each other and have been living together for almost a year and half…Matt knew that being with Mikayla was where he wanted to be in life and asked her to marry him, with a little help from Bentley.
