Third time’s a charm? Diego and Mikayla knew each other in passing for a couple of years. Diego and Mikayla would occasionally match on various popular dating apps, sometimes months or even years apart. However, whenever Diego would attempt to ask Mikayla out on a date, he would come to realize she had deleted all apps and sworn off men for the time being. One night, Mikayla’s friend had her create a Hinge account, stating; “She needed to get back out there.” She came across Diego's profile yet again and gave him a thumbs up. The next morning, as she went to delete the app, she noticed that she had received a heart from Diego, followed by a simple question, “Third times a charm?” FINALLY, on April 12, 2024, they had their first date in Findlay, Ohio at a restaurant that specializes in food from around the world, Circle of Friends.The owner loves to encourage customers to take a cute photo from a selection of various hats while eating delicious food! After their first date, Mikayla called one of her best friends while she was driving home and said, “I know this sounds crazy, but I think I just went on a date with the man I am going to marry!” ¿La tercera es la vencida? I Love You Mikayla quickly fell for Diego’s kind soul and caring heart. Diego quickly fell for Mikayla’s compassion and honesty. Although they both have differing opinions of who said “I love you” first, the important thing is that they both meant it, and it’s been an amazing adventure ever since! ¡Te Amo! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Diego planned a relaxing and romantic trip to a resort in Myrtle Beach as a surprise for Mikayla. As a special treat, Diego planned a private tour at a local historical, art, and nature preserve. It was sweltering that day. Mikayla suggested they go on a different day, but for once, it was Diego, not Mikayla, who was eager to go see some plants, trees, and art. Shortly after arriving, everything fell into place. As Diego bent down on one knee, in true Mikayla fashion, she shouted: "I knew it!" Diego quickly replied: "No, you didn't!"&nbsp; Then, he asked her the big question: "Will you marry me?"&nbsp; This was of course followed by an exuberant: "YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! ¡Sí! ¡Sí! ¡Sí! ¡Sí! ¡Sí! Diego planeó un viaje relajante y romántico a un resort en Myrtle Beach como sorpresa para Mikayla. Meet the Groom Diego was born and raised in Bogotá, the capital city of Colombia. His favorite color is purple, his dream pet is an English Bulldog, and he loves almost all genres of music but is not a fan of R&amp;B or Bachata. Diego speaks Spanish and English fluently but is still working on what he calls "Mikayla sayings." He spent most of his childhood playing sports with a special passion for soccer and swimming. His father, Felipe Santos, was his childhood swim coach, helping him advance in his athletics to eventually secure an athletic scholarship to the University of Findlay, located in Findlay, Ohio, USA, where he earned both his undergraduate and his master's. Diego is now the Head Swim Coach at his Alma Mater and has received the “Coach of the Year Award” for leading the Boys and Girls Swim Team to championships and breaking many school and conference records. Diego loves all sports, and when he’s not coaching, you can find him on Sundays watching Formula One Racing, Soccer, and American Football simultaneously. Ask him about a period of his life, and the time frame is based solely on if the World Cup was taking place and whether Colombia was playing. Since being with Mikayla, he has also started to dabble in the occasional dance class, art museum, music concert, art festival, or Aldi grocery run. Always providing emotional support for when it’s time to re-pot one of Mikayla’s 75 or more house plants. Stating, “I’ll be here for you, but I’m a city boy. I don’t do dirt!” Diego is an amazing coach, son, brother, and soon-to-be husband! Meet the Groom

Meet the Bride Mikayla was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, but primarily grew up in Bowling Green, Ohio. Mikayla’s favorite colors are blue and sage green, her dream pet is anything that doesn’t breath loudly, and her favorite genres of music include R&amp;B and Bachata. Most days, Mikayla is fluent in English and is still working on proving her junior high Spanish teacher wrong one Duolingo lesson at a time. Mikayla attended Bowling Green State University for both her dual undergraduate degrees and her masters. She currently works as a Grant Writer at a nonprofit law firm. Mikayla loves to try new food, meet new people, and go on adventures. She has traveled to over 28 countries, loves camping, hiking, and the outdoors. She will never say no to a plant sale, art museum, concert, or a cheap flight. Since being with Diego, she’s learned to appreciate sports as they make for a great time to cuddle and nap, as long as Colombia or Manchester United is not playing. She has learned that soccer truly is not just a game but a way of life. She’s still working on understanding the rivalry between Colombia and Argentina, though, as her aunt is from Argentina and her baby cousins look so cute in their little Argentina Soccer Jerseys. However, it has been made VERY clear that Diego is not to watch the World Cup during their wedding ceremony or reception, even if Colombia is playing. Mikayla is an adventurous wilderness explorer, crazy plant lady, great daughter, sister, and soon-to-be wife! Sin embargo, ha quedado MUY claro que Diego no debe ver la Copa del Mundo durante su ceremonia o recepción de boda, incluso si Colombia está jugando.
