Picture this...A pair of teenagers, best friends, ride their longboards around the beautiful campus of Colorado State University listening to their favorite songs and chatting about the days before and the days yet to come. As the nights grew longer and colder with the approaching winter, they found great pleasure in each others company as the snow fell outside and the bitter dry winds whipped about. As time goes by, the friends catch glittering stolen glances across the room and find themselves missing the presence of the other during the long hours of work and school.Then came the day where the glances were not stolen, but purposeful. The brush of hands not awkward, but stirring butterflies. The presence of one another not just enjoyed, but longed for. In the blink of an eye and the beat of a heart, those two 19 year olds found their friendship blossoming into something more.Seven years later, the now more-than-best friends find themselves laughing and dancing at a costume party near halloween, still falling deeper in love with their counterpart as time flies by. The now man, no longer boy, asks to be knighted by the now grown and matured fairy princess. As he gets to one knee, and the fairy gently places blade to shoulder she bestows him the title "Caleb the Courageous and Kind". As the fairy princess asks the knight to rise, he does not. Instead he reaches into a pocket and produces a small black box, opening it to reveal a small circlet decorated with gems, and shimmering in glowing light. Eyes full of light and love, the handsome knight asks the fairy to be not a princess, but his queen. Tears welling in the fairy's eyes, she chokes out one word through the gleeful tears. "Yes"And now, the story continues, it will forever unroll like a scroll of infinite tales. It shall be full of adventures and endearment as time continues to whiz by.

Like many great love stories told before this one begins quite simply, when a boy meets a girl. She was smart and kind, loved her family and was unapologetically herself. Why wouldn't the boy fall for the girl? The summer they met was a summer where two strangers became best friends and two best friends started down a long and beautiful story neither of them could possibly imagine where it would go. The beginning had many of this type of stories usual events, the first place they lived together (a cozy house with too many roommates), meeting her family for the first time and being scared to death, cheap wine and late night conversations. They were just kids after all, with all the time in the world. But as time passed that shared bedroom turned into a beautiful home where they love to eat breakfast on the porch every Sunday morning. The family the boy was scared to meet became like family to him as well. The parents, once intimidating were now still very intimidating but also loving, strong, and kind people he revered. The brothers who were just young boys when they met became excellent young men he respected deeply, and the little sister who was just a small thing grew up into a wonderful young woman the boy loved deeply as his own sister. Years passed and the boy and the girl were no longer kids but adults talking about a future. After seven years the man did what the boy knew he wanted to do after the first month of being with her, and he proposed. He asked her to be his queen, because after all these years together it was time they started the foundation of their kingdom. This foundation would be built on the tenets of their relationship; communication, trust, understanding, and love. What happens next in the story you might be wondering. Well, we don't know yet. But we're very excited to see.

The Bride was gifted her promise ring on The Yule Tide of 2017, and the Groom gifted his on The Yule Tide of a subsequent year. These rings represented the promise of unwavering faith, true friendship, and love without conditions.

Viridian comes from the latin word 'viridis' meaning vigorous blooming green. The color Viridian is considered a strong and long lasting color that represents new beginnings, nature, and healing. We chose our own last name to represent the beginning of a new era, a name to signify the forever growing, adaptive, and nurturing relationship that we have built.
