Our Story

So before everyone has heard Victoria's version I'd like to share my take on that weekend in 2022. I decided to book a last minute trip to NYC for the weekend to see friends and enjoy the fall weather. My friends informed me that they had to attend a private event for an hour or so the night I arrived but to meet them in East Village a little later. With time to kill I decided to walk around the area of my hotel and started making my way across town. All of the bars were crowded for the holiday weekend except one. The one where I never could have imagined I would meet the one person I will spend the rest of my life with. Distracted by patrons sharing stories with the bartenders I never saw the tall blonde walk in and if I did I never would have imagined her walking straight up to me to ask if I would join her with a shot of tequila! I ended up talking with her and her friend, going to other bars and actually making plans to see each other again that weekend. We ended up going to a NFL game that Sunday and decided to have dinner after, our first time without distractions to discuss our interests and what we were doing in our lives. She was in Greenville, SC and I was in Fort Worth, TX. Not even a hesitation went through my mind I knew we were going to make this work from very early on. I am very excited to have everyone attend our wedding to witness all the stories we have made just by looking at the two of us together. I have waited for this moment and could never believe Victoria was put into my life.

Miles' Version 

I was living in South Carolina and went to New York City for a weekend on a spontaneous girls trip. Friday night in New York City, every bar had a long line we didn't want to wait in. But we happened to see one with no line so we walked in and I went up to order drinks. I saw Miles sitting at the bar alone and asked him if he wanted a shot of tequila. Yes it was me who made the first move! We started chatting and decided to meet up on Sunday for his first ever NFL game. After the game on Sunday, we made plans to go to a Zach Bryan concert together the following weekend in South Carolina. By the time he left South Carolina, I had a plane ticket to Texas for the weekend after. I think it was the closest thing to love at first sight. The rest is history! I look back on this all the time and think about the serendipity of our story. The chances of us being in NYC the same weekend, the chances of us being at the same bar, the spontaneity that overtook me when I bought him a drink and invited him to the concert. One misstep in the timeline and things would be so different. All of that tells me that there's a reason we were meant to meet and I'm so happy I bought that drink!
