For everyone that knows Chris, he loves to eat. A lot. So it's fitting that the holiday that the Mimi and Chris spark was born was Thanksgiving. Hosted by their mutual friends Morgan and Charlie, Chris and Mimi spent their first Thanksgiving together two months after Mimi moved to Raleigh. Mimi and Chris had met and spent some time together since Mimi arrived those first few months but getting to know each other as friends. Since both were not going home for Thanksgiving, they were lucky enough to have a place in Raleigh to celebrate the day. A night filled with delicious food, Twister, some good wine and a long walk lead to a lasting connection between the two and it only grew stronger.

Fast forward to a year and few months after meeting families, exploring Raleigh with friends, being season ticket members of the Courage, watching lots of dogs, moving in together, traveling for coaching and then some, a big European trip was planned to visit Italy. This would be Mimi and Chris's first time to Europe and they wanted to get the most out of it. Their first day there was filled with sightseeing, walking and the most delicious pizza either have ever had in their life. Little did Mimi know a very large surprise was coming later in the evening, where Chris's co-worker who lived in Italy helped him set up the perfect proposal. Led to a beautiful alleyway in Rome, Chris got down on one knee, Mimi instantly said "No you're not" and Chris asked Mimi to marry him, which she did say "Absolutely yes" after some shock wore off.

And now they are both excited to share their special bond and love for each other with those they love most in the world.
