The year was 2012, and it was Mindy's first day at her very first job as a hostess at P.F. Chang's. The manager showed her around the restaurant and introduced her to her new coworkers. The manager flagged Corey down as he walked by and said, "Corey, this is Mindy, the new host." Mindy responded, "Hi, I'm Mindy! How are you?" Corey responded with a flirtatious remark and then walked away, leaving a lasting impression on Mindy.
Fast forward to the summer of 2016 - Mindy came home from Boston before her senior year of college. Corey saw on Mindy’s social media that she was back in town and invited her to a warehouse rave with him and his friends. Mindy, pleasantly surprised by the invite, said yes, without a doubt. This night made them realize they share a love for dance music and music festivals.
Mindy’s summer in LA was coming to a close, and she planned to spend her last weekend at Hard Summer Music Festival. Corey also had tickets to Hard Summer so they made plans to meet up at the festival. They met up on the first day and danced the night away. This night solidified their feelings for each other, and they both knew there was a special connection.
Mindy had a few days left before she flew back to Boston so she decided to have “the talk” with Corey on what their plan was. Did they want to go their separate ways and reconnect when she moved back, or did they want a long distance relationship? The good news was that Mindy would only be in Boston for another four months and had plans to move back in December. They loved each other’s company and had strong feelings for one another so they decided to take the leap and become official on August 17th.
