Sergio moved from NH to Maine his junior year of high school and quickly became close friends with Mindy's cousin through the soccer team. One night Mindy's family went over to her cousin's house for dinner and was officially introduced to the 'new guy'. It wasn't until a couple weeks later while starting a new semester of classes that Mindy walked into Mrs. Brown's history class with only one seat open – next to Sergio! He started going 30 minutes out of his way each day to drop Mindy off at her house and frequently stayed to study for history exams. Once February vacation came around, he finally asked Mindy out on a date and they hung out every single day! They made their relationship 'official' at the end of vacation by attending a high school basketball game, hand in hand. Nine years, a few college degrees, an adventure to Boston and one orange furball later, they've been holding hands every day since!

Through college, Sergio and Mindy dated long distance—him in Boston and her in Portland, Maine. They hadn't been back to Portland in quite some time, so Sergio planned a mini summer vacation back to reminisce on their favorite spots while also exploring an area they had never been before—Peak's Island. So for August, Sergio booked a hotel in the Old Port which is a beautiful, coast-lined area of Portland full of adorable little boutiques, cobblestone roads and lobster rolls galore.

When they arrived to the OP, there wasn't a cloud in the sky and the sun was shining. After grabbing a coffee, they hopped on the ferry for a relaxing,beautiful thirty minute boat ride off the coast of Maine to Peak's Island.

After filling up their bellies and refueling with lunch on the island, Sergio suggested they rent bicycles to ride alongside the coastline all the way to the top of Peak's. The views were absolutely breathtaking. On their left were pretty rocks, the Portland coast line and the huge blue ocean full of sailboats. To their right were adorable, quaint coast cottages with cute little flower boxes on each balcony.

Once Sergio & Mindy reached the top of the island, they decided to take a break and enjoy the stunning view on a secluded area of rocks. Right then, Sergio grabbed Mindy's hand and dropped down on one knee with a little black velvet box in his hand. After many heartfelt words, Sergio asked Mindy to spend forever with him and she said YES!

Mindy has a zest for life and is known to always wear a warm smile. She spent her youth in Central Maine, but always told her dad she'd live in a big city one day. Upon graduating from the University of Maine with her business degree, she moved to Boston to pursue her marketing career. She's an avid indoor cyclist, proudly owns the title of "crazy cat momma", loves baking up sweets and her body quite possibly consists of 90% coffee. She's currently following her dreams of being an entrepreneur through her blog turned business, along with a growing marketing career as a Demand Gen Manager at a leading identity and access management company. Mindy is looking forward to having the BEST DAY EVER on September 9, 2017!

Born in Kansas and raised in New Hampshire, Sergio has spent his youth adapting to new environments, eating Italian pasta in his home every Sunday after church and following his love for soccer as a goalie. After graduating with his undergrad, Sergio went on to earn a Master's in Accountancy from Bentley University. He worked as an auditor at the Big 4, earned his CPA license and most currently moved to the private sector with a position in financial reporting. Sergio's known to be a huge history buff, enjoys cooking up healthy meals and is an avid runner. He also enjoys furball fatherhood to the couple's rescued orange tabby cat, Muenster Cheeseball, who has Sergio wrapped around his little paws.
