Our Wedding

A timeless love story for the ages...we met online. After texting back and forth for a couple weeks, we finally managed to find a day Mindy was in town, and had our first date at Light Years Wine Bar (Sidney definitely got extra bonus points for taking Mindy to a wine bar she'd never been to!). Looking back now, had that night not worked, we're not sure either of us would have reached out again (thankfully it did). We took turns picking restaurants for dates, and then as Mindy slowly returned to blonde that summer, Sidney commented that "his girlfriend" (who was a redhead) "would probably be jealous." We never really looked back after that, and decided since we didn't have a better date, we'd make our first date our "official" anniversary (4/8/21). The picture below is our first real trip together. We made our way to Cabo for a wedding (damn it was hot, but of course Sidney wore his jacket the entire time for the afternoon beach wedding...he did look good though!). After a number of additional travel destinations, wine and culinary experiences, we learned about our little miracle! Our lives changed forever from that moment, and we both made Jack our #1 priority. Mindy was never the little girl who dreamed about her wedding day, but in the event she ever did get married - the one wish she had was to get married on her grandparent's anniversary - May 25. So - that brings us to where we are now. Why didn't we decide on the year earlier? Good question, but for those of you who have children, you know how they dominate your life, and Mindy's travel never really slowed down.However, one day...not so long ago, we decided we didn't want to wait another year....so, 5/25/25 it is! We know it's a holiday weekend and we haven't exactly given you a long lead time to attend, so we certainly understand if you can't make it, but we would really love if you can join in our special day! The Thelma to my Louise! Rusty and I have been through it...and then some.  Whether it was losing the State Basketball Championship when we were Seniors in HS, attending our first women's tackle football practice, or laughing until we cried, there's not been a more constant or meaningful force in my life.  She marches to the beat of her own drum, but I've been lucky enough to be in the band with her for over 35 years.

Air Travel

Flight into IAH (Bush) or HOU (Hobby) will work. Both are relatively close to the event venue.

Ground Transportation

We recommend using Uber/Lyft to get around. They are very easy to come by in the Galleria area at any time of day.

We'll have plenty of room downstairs for the kids to play and entertain themselves after dinner.
