It all began with a selfie that Miranda had sent which led to talking every single day and then finally meeting face-to-face at a local bar. Trace was living in Lincoln at the time while Miranda was in Chadron. Trace was back from Lincoln for a golf tournament and Miranda had just finished a long shift at work. Trace invited her for drinks with him and his friends. One casual night out at the Ridge turned into the beginning of something sweet. The first night Trace stayed over, he probably didn’t expect to be cuddling a dog (Koda). He wasn’t quite sure of the needy and spoiled dog, but shortly realized if he wanted the girl he got Koda too, as a package deal. As months went by, many FaceTimes were made. During a call, Miranda felt it was the right time to drop the “L” word. She was very nervous as she blurted out the words “I love you” and hung up quickly. Seconds later Trace called and reassuringly said the words back. After what felt like a lifetime of long distance relationship, Trace and Miranda moved in together. Skip forward a year or so, Trace proposed. He used the once known as “needy and spoiled dog” to his advantage. Trace dressed Koda up in a bandana that asked “mom will you marry dad”? Miranda‘s jaw dropped, Trace got down on one knee, and Koda just wagged her tail probably wondering when the treat part came. Through happy tears and laughter, Miranda said YES!
