Our Wedding

Leo and I met on Catholic Match. We talked online for about a month and then began calling each other and decided it was time to meet in person. Leo decided to drive up to Bismarck from Gillette for a weekend for our first date. He came up on Sept. 6th 2024. We had a nice night eating out then taking a walk around UMary and watching the sunset from there. Then we went to the grotto at UMary to pray a rosary and right after that as we were sitting in the grotto Leo brought up the question, and we made things official. We spent the rest of that weekend together and following that weekend there were many weekends that we spent driving to see the other one either in North Dakota or Wyoming. In September 2025 we were finally both able to move to the same town in Iowa and date in person for the first time. On October 12th, as we just got back to Iowa from a trip to ND, we went on a walk by the river close to Leo's apartment and that's where he popped the question. It was such a nice, peaceful, and personal moment! Although since it was after a long drive, it was pretty dark out so much so that when he proposed, I could see there was a ring, but it was hard to see the details because of the dark

We will be getting married in a church, so we would like to kindly ask our guests to keep your cellphones turned off and put away while the ceremony is commencing. However, during the reception its free game to photograph and record the night.

For those who've never been to a Mass

For all of our non-Catholic friends who've never been to a Mass before we'd like to welcome you! During Mass, please remove your hat as a sign of reverence. Towards the end of Mass there will be communion; during communion we ask that you either remain in your pews or come to the front with your arms crossed across your chest. Whatever you do, please do not receive communion if you are a non-Catholic out of respect for our faith.

Conduct during the Reception

At the reception there will be alcohol. However, we ask that everyone please conduct yourself in a respectful manner. If you do end up leaving under the influence, please find a ride and don't drive.
