Miranda and Parker’s love story is one that feels truly blessed. God brought them together at just 16 years old during their junior year of high school. Though they had noticed each other since 2016, it wasn’t until they were seated next to each other in AP Government class that they truly started to connect.
From the very first day of class, their bond was undeniable, and they quickly became best friends. By December of 2018, they both took a leap of faith and shared their feelings for each other. On January 2nd, 2019, they went on their first official date—and the rest, as they say, is history.
The next year and a half was filled with unforgettable high school memories, from dances to football games. Miranda cheered on Parker from the front of the student section at every basketball game, and together they navigated the challenges of the pandemic during their senior year. Despite everything, they were still able to experience a graduation ceremony in June 2020. At that time, Parker hadn’t planned on playing college basketball, but God had other plans.
In August 2020, both Miranda and Parker chose to stay in Traverse City and take online classes at NMC instead of attending MSU. It wasn’t long before the coach at Alpena Community College reached out to Parker, offering him a spot on the basketball team for the second semester. Parker accepted the opportunity and moved to Alpena, thinking it would be a short-term experience—but yet again, God had other plans. By the end of the season, he realized how much he loved the game and reached out to Coach Bailey at Grace Christian University, where he signed just a week later.
Miranda, wanting to save money, decided to finish her degree at Grand Valley State University. In August 2021, the two of them moved to Grand Rapids, where they spent the next three years attending games and NASCAR races, traveling, enjoying summers in Traverse City, and building their future together while earning their business degrees.
In August 2023, to celebrate Miranda’s 21st birthday, they took a weekend getaway to Florida. On Siesta Key Beach at sunset—Miranda’s dream proposal spot—Parker surprised her with the proposal they had always talked about since the beginning of their relationship, just two days before her birthday. It was truly the most unforgettable birthday gift she could have ever imagined!
After their engagement, they both entered their senior years and graduated from GVSU and GCU in April 2024. Now, they’re back in Traverse City, embarking on the exciting next chapter of their lives together. They feel beyond blessed by God for bringing them together at such a young age and can’t wait to start this next chapter as a married couple. They are excited to celebrate with all of you in June!
