His Story:

I spent most of my life in Knoxville but after living in Chattanooga for a half decade for school and work, coming back to Knoxville in December of 2020 felt like moving to a brand new city. Yes I moved in with my parents but I felt like I was starting from scratch with my job, community, etc. After a little over a year of finally getting settled (buying a home, church hopping, developing new friendships), I met Randi in March of 2022. I immediately asked her on a date for the next day and for some reason she said yes. She met me at Bearden Beer Market that Monday night to chat and get to know each other. I was having such a great time that at about 9 p.m. I asked if she wanted to play pickleball. I took the long way to some courts across town that had lights on them, even though there was several closer because I wanted to spend more time with her. I finally brought her back to her car a little after a 11pm. She only later told me that she had to be up at 5am every day for work, so I guess she was at least a bit interested in me to stay out that late on a work night.

I quickly fell in love and we starting spending more and more time together. From paddleboarding, to biking, to wiffleball and kickball leagues, to trips all across the south and up to Washington to visit her family, I knew she was the one that I was meant to spend my life with.

My feelings are validated in the sense that everyone who meets Randi loves her. My family fell in love with her instantly and she has replaced me as the favorite child living in Knoxville. My friends repeatedly tell me how lucky I am to have found someone as great as Randi and I wholeheartedly agree.

Here's to a Washington girl becoming my Girl Named Tennessee.
