Our Story

Shaun and I met while working at Wag N' Tails in 2015. We quickly became friends and started dating shortly after on December 26th, 2016. We both loved animals and had a lot of similar interests. We spent most of our time catching me up in movies I had never seen, but he loved. We moved in with each other on February 21st, 2016 when we took in an abused Pitbull named Theo. Theo eventually got adopted and soon after we took in our Border Collie, Kiara, on July 20th, 2016. We were slowly working on building a life together and a family.

On August 21st, 2018, shortly after my 23rd birthday, we found out I was pregnant with our son Noah. Though the pregnancy was hard for both of us, we did what we could to make it work. We communicated, we listened, and we buckled down to get where we needed to be. We ended up moving out of our tiny one bedroom apartment, and into my dad's house on November 25th, 2018. Noah was born on April 18th, 2019.

Being a new parent was a challenge for both of us. We had a lot of sleepless nights and a lot to learn. We had help from our families and friends and we can't thank them enough. We grew together and learned together through this process. We learned how to communicate better and work better together to give our son the life that he deserved. We learned how to sacrifice and grow together. Noah was the best gift to be given to us and we love him dearly.

On December 4th, 2019, my father passed away. This was another challenge our relationship had to make it through. After my dad passed, we had to find a new place to live, and fast. After looking at houses, we decided to buy a beautiful home in Marine City. We moved in on February 7th, 2020.

Shortly after moving in, Covid hit. Shaun and I were both out of work and making the best of the situation. Shaun started building things for the house and making it ours. He put a lot of work into the house and made it that much more special for us. We enjoyed spending time as a family, and getting to know our new area.

On April 12th, 2020 Shaun proposed. I couldn't be happier, knowing we'd finally be united as a family. I knew I loved this man and wanted to spend the rest of my life with him, no matter what life threw at us. I was ready to be with him "until death do us part" and face everything with him as a team.

We got married on July 2nd, 2020 in a very small ceremony done by his mom. We didn't want to wait and postpone things over and over because of the pandemic and knew we wanted to be together. We still wanted to have a real ceremony in front of friends and family and chose to do a destination wedding in Punta Cana.

Relationships aren't easy, and you will always have to work on yourself and communicate. One day, you find someone who loves you for you and you know they are the one. That's how we feel about each other. We know that there will be ups and downs, and we know there will be challenges that arise. We will stick together and push through them as a team, we will communicate with each other, and we will keep working on our relationship. We know we can make it through anything as long as we are together, supporting each other. We're happy that we found each other and we won't give it up for the world. We're our one and onlys and we can't wait to celebrate our love with you!
