Clay and Miranda matched on Bumble on November 1, 2022, and felt an immediate connection. The two were inseparable from the start, and went on their first date on November 5, 2022. The rest is history.

When Clay and Miranda met, Clay already had Olive, a beautiful, fluffy-haired princess. After several months of dating, Clay surprised Miranda with Willow, a stout, short-haired orange cat.

In May of 2023, Clay got a job offer as a full-time sports writer for the Houston Home Journal in Warner Robins, Georgia. The couple moved to the city and began their life away from home and familiarity together. Shortly after, Clay would be promoted to sports editor and Miranda would start her career as a Registered Behavioral Technician. She began grad school in 2024 to become a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst.

The couple got engaged on Valentine's Day after Clay presented Miranda with a love letter and a ring he'd bought in December after a beautiful Christmas together.
