Miranda and Ryan started off as teammates on the A&M Quidditch team. After graduation, they each went their separate ways to graduate school.

Once Ryan moved back to Texas in 2020, an impromptu hike turned soon turned to daily calls and deeper feelings. Since COVID was still in full swing, they had to be creative with dates: Teaching each other recipes, driving around and showing each other music, and countless slices of Pizza at Zilker Park.

Building off of the comradery of being teammates, Miranda and Ryan grew as individuals and as a couple, supporting each other through Master's degrees, opening businesses and starting careers.

Secretly planning with Miranda's family and best friend for months, Ryan (finally) proposed on October 14, 2023. Miranda was "kidnapped" and led to Mt. Bonnell, the site of their very first date. She, of course, said yes.
