Chad and Miranda grew up just a few miles down the road from one another. Chad’s dad was Miranda’s mailman, and his mom was her preschool teacher and best customer for her egg business! They were no strangers to one another, but the relationship didn’t begin until a few years after high school.
One day in the spring of 2020 Chad took a chance and messaged Miranda on Instagram, and they hit it off! After a first date of bowling and a second date of hiking, things slowly got more serious.
On August 1, 2020, Chad asked Miranda to be his girlfriend. Little did they know that they were each others forever.
On August 31, 2020 Chad told Miranda he loved her for the first time on the top of Pikes Peak in Colorado.
The two managed to date long distance for over a year and a half (5 hours apart) while Chad lived in De Smet, South Dakota and Miranda lived in River Falls, Wisconsin.
In the spring of 2021, Chad got a new job closer to home, and moved back to Hayfield with his parents while he house hunted. Miranda was still going to school in River Falls, so the two still dated long distance for a little while longer.
In September 2021, Chad bought a house in Hayfield.
On May 5, 2022, Miranda and Chad welcomed Piper, their Australian Shepherd into their lives.
On May 7, 2022, Miranda graduated college at UWRF with her degree in Elementary Education.
And on May 9, 2022, Chad, Miranda, and Piper officially all moved in together. This was quite the busy week for everyone!
On January 22, 2023, Chad was determined this was the perfect day to go deer antler shed hunting at Miranda’s grandparents pasture. Shed hunting is one of their favorite winter/spring hobbies to do together. (Miranda’s grandparents farm is her most favorite place on Earth. Most of her earliest and happiest memories have been at her grandparents farm.) Just like any Sunday for Chad and Miranda, they went to church in the morning and back home to change into their winter gear for snowshoeing and shed hunting at her grandparents. Chad was determined that Miranda’s parents HAD to come along with us for this hunt. So, Miranda made sure to invite her parents and all go out together. Once everyone got to the farm, Miranda only questioned why her younger brother Landon came too...as this was very out of the ordinary for him. When Miranda asked Landon why he came too, he replied “I was forced!” Miranda still had zero idea what was about to happen. So along with Piper, the five of them set off in their snowshoes towards the woods to get to work. It was the most beautiful and sunny winter day. Within minutes of being in the woods, Miranda and Piper came across a deer antler, so Miranda now became very focused on finding more. As they all kept walking and searching, Chad kept getting closer to Miranda which made her get upset with him as everyone should be spread out to search for more antlers. He did not listen to her. Just as Miranda’s frustration grew, Chad told her to turn around. When she did, he was already on one knee holding the beautiful ring...The best day ever!
