Our Story

Misa's Point of View

So I met Deanna at our SDA church gathering in Rockingham in 2019, a group of friends wanted to play soccer afterwards so I got to see how competitive and good she was... that was fun to watch. I kept contact with her after that, she was really shy and it was hard to get a word out of her for a while. Around 3 months after that I was ready to go on a 50k trail race with my brother in TN, the weekend before my race I ended up hurting my knee which found out 3 months later I had torn my ACL. I still wanted to go watch my brother run so I drove to Charlotte NC stayed with some buddies for the night and was planning on heading out in the AM. I woke up the next morning to my car being broken into and money stolen, so I decided to head home since I was then broke. All of those "bad events" led to an awesome drive Saturday with Deanna and just getting to know her on a better level. After that night we just talked more often which led to a year and 5 month relationship to where we are now, the thought of that is awesome. Her love and willingness to be there for me is more than I could ever ask for.

Deanna's point of view

Misa and I met at our local SDA church; I remember him coming up to me and saying "hey, what's up" and I replied with a lame "the sky" hehe and I thought it was the funniest thing ever. Later on that day we went to play a pickup game of soccer and he started showing me all the flips he could do which I thought was cool. After that day he would message me often to keep up with me. I think when we finally went on that car ride together to see the stars was when I started to like Misa and want to talk to him more. Misa loves to be out and about a lot and I think if it wasn't for his ACL tearing we wouldn't have been able to hang out and get to know each other better as much as we did. I am grateful that I was able to spend that time with Misa because he has helped me become a better person and has helped me look at things from a different perspective. The amount of love he has for everyone is so awesome and inspiring. I love Misa and I'm glad he will be my forever person.
