Our story started with a swipe to the right, a modern day love story of two people on tinder. Our first date was at Starbucks in Moncton where Alex drove up from Saint John and we ended up talking for three hours. We got along great but for the first chapter of our story, we ended up just becoming good friends.

We spent the next few years venting about relationships, lost passports in Cuba, stressful days and pretty much everything else that happened in our lives (ask me after a few drinks about how I almost got stranded in Cuba!). When I decided to get Lily, I could not wait to share the news with Alex as he had become an important part of my life. Little did we know, this would foreshadow the next chapter of our love story.

One day, Alex finally took me up on my offer to give him a makeover and help him meet someone special. The plan was for me to be his “wingwoman” on a night out in Moncton, but the universe had another plan for us. I did not expect that I was the someone special in Alex’s story (although I think this was part of Alex’s master plan all along!) From this night onwards, our story transitioned from one of friendship to one of true love and we started writing our next chapter.

After almost 8 years, we are still going strong. We have made so many amazing memories together including travelling, spending time with family and friends, and relaxing at home with Lily and our favourite marvel shows (who would have thought that Alex would bring out my inner nerd!) Some special memories of ours that stand out are flying across the world to Japan for our fist major vacation (luckily we didn’t kill eachother!) and getting caught in a thunderstorm at the top of Mount Katahdin. During the hike, I remember being scared and Alex saying “we got this” and we went on to complete the hike one rock at a time.

Last February, Alex planned a special night out with friends and got down on one knee (finally!!). He explained that we were already a family of three and he wanted us to make it official. Of course I said yes and here we are getting ready to say I Do. We are so excited to start the final chapter of our love story with of our closest Family & Friends ❤️.
