His version: It was love at first sight...or that's what I heard. Jen and I met in the year 2020, it was one of the few good things that came from the COVID-19 pandemic. Well that and social distancing. For me she was like no other and I was like every other but at least I was funny. It started slow and we took our time but every moment spent together was a moment cherished. With all the courage I could master up, I asked her on a date. Sadly I was rejected because as I later found out a hike up a mountain is not a good first date idea. We ended up having a casual braai and even after me burning the meat she suggested a second date. In many areas we have so much in common, such as both of us being educators, both of us studied at the same university and both of us laugh at my jokes. Then we also have our differences. One of us being moderately good looking and the other drop dead, breathtakingly gorgeous. One being tall and the other very, very short but I'll leave that to your own interpretation. But no matter what we have always been there for each other through thick and thin and I could always count on her being by my side. In our relationship we have a saying "forever and a day" which meant we would love each other eternally and always. We'd love to have you be part of our first step into our forever.

Her version: It all started with “That first look”. I fell madly inlove with Mitch the first time I saw him at my place of work. As the story goes, Mitch didn’t notice me at first in a romantic way. As time went by, as shy as Mitch was at first, we became really good friends. During this time Mitch fell inlove with me as he proudly announced later. The blossoming of our love started with the little flirty jokes, some cliche glances, playfulness and stealing every second we could to spend more and more time together. Mitch and I both were scared to admit our feelings even though everyone already knew. The big day came to ask me on a “first date” but knowing me in my “blonde oomblik” I quickly shot him down. I thought a hike on the Wonderboom mountain was silly without realizing this was supposed to be our first date and quickly made a new suggestion to have a “braai” at my home. As we know clumsy Mitch, he burnt the meat but what he didn’t know was that I just fell more inlove with him. Shortly after a few dates and meeting the perants, Mitch had planned a very romantic candle lit evening to ask me to be his girlfriend. As the years went by we faced many things in our relationship but we grew stronger in our love with every tear and laugh. On 22 December 2023 Mitch decided to ask me to be his forever. We are very excited to start our forever together and would like to share this day with our close friends and family.
